Comments are on Vacation, and Likes without comments are Blooming.

Ok. Its official. I am getting more and more annoyed.

I may not be the hottest ticket here, but I will have my say.

So lately I have noticed a general uptick in likes

Not just on my stories, but everywhere

On one creator's Top Story

I saw forty-one (41) likes and eight (8) comments

'Casper The Not So Friendly Ghost' liked your story

But fully 41 of us could not drop a comment

We were either too busy or your story does not deserve

a comment...or maybe we never read it at all

So how can we comment?

Maybe we don't think you important enough to deign, to consider bothering to leave a comment

Or

Is Vocal paying for likes now, maybe there is another

Leaderboard that only the Likers can see

Me...I only hit the Like button to identify which stories

I have already read. I make sure to comment.

Comments are what matters.

If I read your story and comment...

why would you only drop a like on mine, did you even read it

Do you expect a response

Should I then go and Vocal Google your name to find you

Replies too, I am way behind on mine...confessing

Before someone points out my hypocrisy on late replies

Cache is playing havoc with the comments

Comments seem to go on a long vacation before turning up

Which is one reason for my late replies

I can't find them.

So, at least I have an excuse for late returning of replies

to comments...so sorry for my tardiness.

Do Likes pay people their ha'penny I wonder. Only if you actually read the story. The way I see it, if you actually read a story, you would take the time to drop a few words to acknowledge such. Just because you are no longer getting paid, you can still be supportive.

I mean, those 41 likes would still add up to a few pennies. Right? Assuming the liking people are actually reading before liking.

And another thing....I see people subscribing without any indication that they have even read a story of the authors subscribed to.

Such and such subscribed to you. Why, pray tell. What impressed you enough to make you subscribe. You didn't even read a Haiku and comment, as far as I can see. I mean, it is short enough.

Such strange happenings.

If you continuously only drop a like, I am no longer reading your stories. It is only fair.
