We all feel it
The storm swelling inside.
An ache too big to swallow whole
Instead we distract
Some drink
Others work
For me. I write.
As this ache cannot be drank or distracted away
An itch that neither books, movies, pleasure can scratch
For until ink drips from my pen, I will remain heavy
A deep sigh of humanness I can only sustain for a moment, before such pain pours into every corner of my mind
And so, I write.
For in writing, my heart can breathe again.
