A Weird/Normal Dream

What the sleeping mind comes up with…

By Gabriel B. ShamesPublished 4 months ago 1 min read
Nowhere near as weird as this, though

I dreamt I was at a very big store, hanging out with Catherine, my former coworker, and Mary, our former boss. We end up sitting at a super long table in the employee basement and reconnecting. I think at one point how I’m glad I can be so far from them, and that Catherine should be farther away from Mary.

Mary makes an off-hand comment about how I used to pronounce something incorrectly. I brush it off, saying I guess I did a long time ago. Once again, she’s trying to rub me the wrong way. This time, I’m not gonna take the bait. She manages the smallest of grins, like when she used to say to herself, “Ok, I’ll get him next time.”

Soon it’s just Catherine and I, and she’s standing up next to me. We’re joking around and eating mini Reese’s. I turn one of mine upside down and look at it. I say that if it were taller, it would make the perfect skirt “for a chocolate lady.”

I guess you can blurt out the most silly and mundane things in the dreaming world too.
