(The Internet) In 1991 the worldwide world was formed, becoming available to the public. In 1992, The words, Surfing The Internet, became popular. In 1993 Mosaic web browser was released, making it easier to navigate the web.

(Google) In 1998 students at Stanford University in California, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, launched Google, to market Google search, which became the most used web-based search engine.

Fast forward to 2002 the company launched Google News, Gmail in 2004, Google map in 2005, Google Chrome in 2008, and Google+ in 2011.

Doing this time, you could definitely say technology has made everyone’s life a whole lot better. Because now instead of standing in line to pay for groceries, or traveling from store to store looking for the perfect gift for Christmas, Anniversary, Birthdays or Graduations, that takes up a lot of time and gas.

Now with the press of a couple of buttons, on your laptop or smartphone you can order an item and have it delivered to your home or business, in a couple of hours or a couple of days, all through the world wide web.

Artificial (AI) Intelligence, although it may feel like AI is a recent development in technology. To be real with you, the groundwork for AI began in the early 1900s. And although the biggest strides weren’t made until the 1950s, it wouldn’t have been possible without the work of early experts in many different fields.

AI, as we know it today is striving to be a game changer. Which is super exciting and amazing in so many ways. But the million dollar question that may keep so many awake at night, is how will it affect everyday working American people and other countries around the world.

If we don’t work we don’t eat.

And this is where the 5 reasons AI could Bankrupt the economy comes into play.

✅1. Block Inc, founder Jack Dorsey and February 2026 announced that they would be cutting over 4000 employees which represents roughly 40% to 50% of its total workforce in layoffs which reduces the amount of staff from over 10,000 to just under 6,000 due to an AI shift.

✅ 2. Tesla, CEO Elon musk, just recently made an announcement on a call with investors and Wall Street analysts, saying it was part of his effort to overhaul Tesla’s operation to focus on robotaxis and humanoid robots. Also saying that is sad but it’s time to bring the S and X programs to an end and it’s part of our overhaul shift to an autonomous future.

✅ 3. Amazon, founded by Jeff Bezo was announced that as of early 2026 Amazon is laying off approximately 16,000 corporate employees, it’s second major round of cuts in 3 months following a 14,000 employee cut in October 2025. This action in the organization is to focus more towards artificial intelligence.

✅ 4. Pinterest, a social media platform is cutting 15% of it’s staff as part of an AI forward strategy.

✅ 5. Dropbox is cutting 20% of it’s staff to focus on an AI driven structure.

(What Does This All Mean)

With so many companies, working to figure out ways to cut costs, AI would be a great way to do just that. Which for them, is a great way to scale up their business and become more profitable. But where does that leave the American people and so many others around the world.

Since we could all remember, jobs were the main source to make money and take care of your family. Retail, manufacturing, are owning your own business, were the ways to bring in income.

But now with AI, how does that work? The question that makes you go hmmm. It’s something that we have to figure out fast, because if we don’t these companies would be making money and the team members will be left with nothing.

Everyday this AI train is moving fast, and we have to find a way to get on board, before these companies leave the whole entire economy behind.
