The Touareg hybrid, a new plug-in hybrid SUV from the Volkswagen Imported brand, was officially launched.

Exterior and Interior Interpretation

The Touareg hybrid is not much different from the Touareg gasoline version, there is no blue or green decoration full of bad taste, only some special signs: 1.

1、 There are hybrid badges at the front grille and the tailgate.

2, The wheels are replaced with "Tirano" 19-inch aluminum alloy style, double ten-spoke design, which can reduce wind resistance and reduce fuel and electricity consumption.

3. The center panel and the dashboard have different images, the hybrid has added electrification elements.

Explanation of powertrain

As we all know, Q7 and Touareg are of the same origin and are produced by Bratislava. MLB EVO longitudinal engine platform Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Timothy, and Lamborghini Urus are not assembled by Bratislava, only Q7 and Touareg are, and Q7 e-Tron and Touareg hybrid are the products of the same production line, and the power system is the same! -- I used "basically the same" very strictly, because the Q7 e-Tron's drive motor tuning is slightly less than 8PS, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time is 0.2 seconds longer.

Since the Touareg hybrid did not publish the structure of the powertrain, I used the Q7 e-Tron's PHEV system perspective to replace it, and I will produce a detailed test drive tomorrow morning.

The MQB and MLB platforms were designed with electrified powertrain compatibility in mind, so a Touareg evolved into a Touareg hybrid without altering the frame, all within the plan.

Since the entire system is equipped with a 4MOTION constant-time four-wheel drive system with an integrated Torsen-type center differential as standard, the torque-crazy Touareg hybrid will not slip during the floor gas start-up phase, and the sound of rattling tires is not too loud.

Unlike Touareg 2.0TSI/Touareg 3.0TSI, the drive motor of Touareg hybrid can give 350N-m at the initial speed, no need to wait for the 2.0T gasoline engine to rev up and turbo up, this kind of fast feeling is not felt by all Touareg before.

How fast is this four-cylinder car? Back then, the Touareg W12 broke 100 in 5.9 seconds, but times have changed, the third generation of Touareg hybrid plug-in hybrid with a four-cylinder machine (and still ordinary high-powered version) plus a drive motor ran out of 5.7 seconds to break 100, Guangzhou Chen Tian scientists are sitting on the edge of their seats.

This P2 drive motor is sandwiched between the 2.0T output and the 8AT input, and the power comes from an 18kW-h high-voltage battery pack hidden under the rear compartment of the car.

The advantage of the P2 structure is that the overall structure is simpler, less difficult to integrate with conventional transmissions, and has good reliability. The disadvantage is that the moment the gasoline engine starts may bring more embarrassing speed fluctuations, while the Touareg hybrid solves this problem, switching between pure electric mode and hybrid mode without intrusion, VW's ability to tune the hybrid system is still noteworthy. The Touareg hybrid's 8AT transmission is equipped with an electronic gearshift and electronic parking, the steering wheel has shift paddles, the driving threshold is low, and the luxury quality is still quite good.

After adding the P2 motor, the Touareg hybrid with NEDC mode measures 2.3L/100km combined fuel consumption and can drive 58 km in pure electric condition, and the top speed of pure electric can reach 140 km/h. After adding the gasoline engine, the top speed is 225 km/h.

Configuration

The Touareg hybrid is equipped with a mid-level configuration in the family and still comes standard with 4Motion all-wheel drive, the latter with a Torsen-type mechanical differential, which is quite hardcore, although there is no air suspension.

Inside, the Touareg hybrid is equipped with Innovision Cockpit, a 15-inch Discover Premium infotainment system (center screen), 12-inch customizable full LCD gauges (instrument cluster) and HUD head-up display, and three screens The three screens cover almost all of the previous cockpit human-computer interaction.

"Volkswagen Car-Net has three types of services, including call service, online service, and remote monitoring, adding up to more than 20 sub-services, such as understanding real-time weather and road conditions, getting online rescue dispatch or map updates, remotely checking vehicle status or flashing lights and sirens, or Geo-fencing and speeding alerts, etc.

As a new energy vehicle, the Touareg hybrid also includes the "e-manager" function in the "Crowd member" Telematics service, which allows users to remotely set the charging time, set the stopping threshold, monitor the charging progress, as well as set the "departure time". The "departure time" planning function also allows users to set the temperature in the car before departure.

As for the intelligent driving assistance system, it is consistent with the other members of the Touareg family, so I won't go into details here. The ACC cruise control has been upgraded to extend the automatic following speed range to 0-200 km/h, which is equivalent to the "full speed range" in China (not in Germany).
