Identifying the USA tire plant codes

The Tire Identification Number (TIN) is placed after “DOT.” The first pair of letters (or sometimes a combination of letter and number) printed on the tire’s sidewall is the plant code.

On April 13, 2025, the US Government Publishing Office will implement a mandatory new three-symbol plant code. Until that time, tire manufacturers will continue to use the two- and three-symbol codes.
