Visually, Toyota Fortuner, or เอ ฟ เวอร์ เร ส in Thailand language is definitely a striking vehicle. But when you're with it, does it contain other things you don't normally notice? Based on the Toyota branding, the Toyota Fortuner doesn't need a facelift or a makeover to maintain its popularity. But when the beautiful Toyota Fortuner Legender hits the market, people can't help but be attracted to it. That's why we put the new-gen Toyota Fortuner Legender to the test on the road. Here are 5 areas that get the attention of road testers.

First of all, it doesn't have the typical Fortuner badge. The Legender looks better than the regular Fortuner, with a slim grille and waterfall headlights adding to the sporty feel. However, the SUV does not have a 'Fortuner' badge on the outside. At the back, there's a Legender badge on the boot, and another black-on-black Legender letter panel attached to the taillights. You can see detailed pictures of the Toyota Fortuner Legender in the gallery. I personally feel a little disconcerted by the absence of the typical Fortuner badge.

Second, the Toyota Fortuner Legender accelerates quickly and smoothly. It has an updated diesel engine that makes 204PS and a massive 500Nm (AT). It goes from 0 to 100 km in 10.58 seconds, returning 10.52 km/h in the city and 15.26 km/h on the motorway. This speed is faster than the Polo GT TSI! Most of the models in its category are 4x4s, compared to the Legender which is lighter in weight as a 4x2. This also contributes to better fuel efficiency, returning 10.52 km/h in the city and 15.26 km/h on the motorway. This also contributes to better fuel efficiency and lower car emissions.

Third, the Toyota Fortuner Legender is technically better equipped than the standard Fortuner. Compared to previous models, the Fortuner now has more features, not least of which is the new touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While this touchscreen experience is not perfect, it is a significant improvement over the previous one. It has multiple theme options for quick access to all menus. another key addition to the Fortuner line-up is the ventilated seats, with chairs that are more breathable and more comfortable to sit in. the Legender is further equipped with ambient lighting, a wireless smartphone charger, a rear USB port and a kick sensor powered rear bezel. Although the standard 4x4 Fortuner does not come with a speaker JBL music system, the Legender makes up for this lack.

Forth, the Toyota Fortuner Legender is a diesel automatic 4x2 two-tone black and white SUV. as a separate entity, there are no other power options. The new two-tone interior not only makes the user feel fresh and comfortable, but also adds to the premium quotient. Smooth acceleration, good fuel efficiency, better technical equipment and better looks make the Toyota Fortuner Legender highly praised. Fortune magazine even called it the best city car you could buy, offering the perfect road driving experience. However, you will have to pay more to get the Toyota Fortuner Legender.

At last, the new model has been upgraded in every way and that's to be expected as the price of the Fortuner starts at Rs 3.034 lakh while the Legender goes up to Rs 3.83 lakh (ex-showroom). In fact, this makes it the most expensive SUV in its segment, but put another way, when you compare the price of the Legender to that of the standard 4x2 diesel AT Fortuner, you find that you're actually only paying Rs 31 lakh more! For an extra Rs 31 lakh, you get the Toyota Fortuner Legender with updated features and looks. Of course the final choice is yours and you can weigh up the price for yourself.
