Top 5 Budget EV Scooters in India
Made in India Scooters
Overview
Everyone is talking about electric mobility as the future. But you should understand what are the benefits of buying an electric scooter over a petrol scooter.
- Low maintenance cost
- No air pollution
- Less noise pollution
- Don't need a driver's license
- Greenhouse gas emission savings
- Electric scooters are relatively eco-friendly
- Perfect for short distances
- Subsidies provided by the government.
I have tried to make a compilation of the top five budget scooters that you can buy in India right now. There are many homegrown brands with multiple products. It was very difficult to choose the best five, so I set some minimum criteria.
- The range should be at least 80 km.
- Speed should be at least 40 kmph.
1. Hero Photon HX (Amount - ₹ 71440)
The Range of this scooter is 108 km. Considering the price of 72k, the range of this scooter is decent. The top speed is 45kmph. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the battery.
What makes this scooter better is its awesome features which include -
- Digital Instrument Cluster
- Telescopic Suspension
- Alloy Wheels
- Portable Battery
- LED Headlamp
- Remote Lock & Anti-Theft Alarm
- Combi Brakes
Most importantly it has Regen Braking Feature. It is a way of taking the wasted energy from the process of slowing down a vehicle and using it to recharge the vehicle’s batteries. On a normal vehicle, braking simply wastes energy - but with regenerative braking, some of the energy can be reused. This feature is mostly given in expensive scooters but including this feature in this price most is truly amazing.

2. Hero Nyx HX (Amount - ₹ 62954)
If we talk about the looks I personally didn't like. But considering the price of around 63K the specifications on paper are good, that is the sole reason I have added to this list.
The Range of this scooter is 165 km. The top speed is 42kmph. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the battery.
Some Key Features are -
- Digital Instrument Cluster
- Telescopic Suspension
- USB Port
- Alloy Wheels
- Portable Battery
- LED Headlamp
- Regen Braking
- Combi Brakes
- Split Folding Seat
- In-Dash Bottle Holder

3. Pure EV E-Pluto 7G (Amount - ₹ 83999)
The range of this scooter is 120 km. If we talk about the battery, it has a portable patented battery of 2.5 KW. Its top speed claimed by the company is 60 kmph. It has a warranty of 3 years for the battery. It has features like Eco mode which will extend your range by approx 10-20 km. This is the only scooter in this list that has the Eco mode feature.

4. Pure EV Entrance Neo (Amount - ₹ 67999)
This scooter is also from the same company. Basically, the scooter is the same as E-pluto 7G. The only difference is E-pluto 7G will give you the feel of retro scooters where Entrance Neo is made for Gen - Z. But do keep in mind the build quality of E-pluto is better. This is the reason why Entrance Neo is nearly 16K cheaper than E-pluto 7G.
