There’s a Lot More You Can Do with Your Used Car, Other than Sell It
If selling your car is going to give you more value for it, then go ahead with it. These creative options are for you if your car is not of much value in the market and you can afford to do something else with it.
What’s the first thought that comes to your mind when you think of what to do with your used car? The guess is that you think about selling it, rather than make a piece of furniture out of it. But did you know there are a lot of creative things that you can do with your car other than sell it? While taking it to used car wreckers might seem like the easy choice, here’s a list of some creative choices that you can make with your old, used car.
1. Make furniture.
There are many ways to make furniture out of your old car, and this is one of the most creative things that you can do with your old wheels. If your car has a sentimental value for you, then keeping it in your home as a piece of furniture will ensure that a part of it always remains with you. You can get your car repurposed as a bed, sofa, table, chair, etc. There are many companies that do this repurposing job, and you can easily contact them to turn your car into something that you can hold onto forever.
2. Sell Parts of Car
Auto parts of cars are in large demand, and can be sold after dismantling the parts of the car. You can hire someone to do this for you, or ask around, maybe a friend of yours is good with auto parts. Auto enthusiasts, hobbyists, etc. value car parts a lot, and you might actually get a good deal for them. Popular car parts that make a sale easily are: wheels, glass, sound systems, axles, seats, lights, trim pieces, etc. Before quoting the price for your parts, do a bit of research online and in the market to get a fair idea of the price that’s right for the parts.
3. Cash for Scrap Cars
You can either sell your entire car in scrap and get cash for it, or you can take out the parts of the car that are in good condition, sell them, and sell the rest of the metal of your car in scrap. Selling your car in scrap should be done only if your car is in a really poor condition. If not, it might be a good option to find something of more value to do with it.
4. Donate it.
Forget about selling it for cash or turning it into a piece of furniture, how about doing something noble with it? Donate your car to a charity or a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It can help organizations with their commuting and transport needs. However, do keep in mind that the car that you donate should be in a fairly good, and running, condition. You don’t want to donate a car that’s going to require major repairs or added costs to maintain it.
5. Barter it.
How about bartering your car with a friend or relative who probably has something that you would want in exchange? If you’re not getting much value for your car by selling it, you might want to consider bartering it for something else in exchange. This will not only give you something in exchange that you may want, but also help the buyer get a cheaper deal for a car.
Whatever you plan to do with your car, ensure that it is the option you want to take. If selling your car is going to give you more value for it, then go ahead with it. These creative options are for you if your car is not of much value in the market and you can afford to do something else with it.
