Mercedes-AMG SL 55 4MAITC+ and SL 63 4MATIC+ are on sale overseas, with the new cars priced at 158,240.25 and 187,097.75 euros respectively. As the seventh generation of the SL family, the new car will not only return to the 2+2 seating layout again, but will also be divided into the AMG family from this generation, and will indirectly replace the AMG GT sports car.

The new car will share the same platform as the AMG GT sports car, with an aluminum body frame to meet the lightweight and further improve the rigidity of the body, and will have more excellent performance and handling. In terms of color scheme, the new car also offers exclusive paint and roof color options and includes six custom paint finishes.

The front of the new car features a straight waterfall center grille design with 14 vertical trim strips that replicate the classic design of the 1952 300 SL, with exaggerated deflector shapes to further demonstrate the outstanding aerodynamic design, and the headlights on both sides also use the iconic Mercedes-Benz digital headlights.

The side of the car is designed with a long wheelbase and short front overhang, reserving ample space for the engine compartment, which, together with the forward-sloping windshield, shapes the elegant proportions of the body.

At the rear, the new car features a bilateral four-way exhaust and dynamic electric rear wing, plus slender taillights on both sides and a fish-scale design on the interior structure, echoing the new S-Class.

The interior of the new car uses the design concept of the new S-Class and C-Class and does not adopt the 56-inch large joint screen design of the EQ series. The car comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster + 11.9-inch infotainment system, and will also have a Burmester audio system and Nappa leather seats.

In terms of smart features, the new car is equipped with the second-generation MBUX infotainment system and the AMG TRACK PACE virtual track engineer in-car application. The center screen also supports a 12-32 degree angle adjustment function, which can effectively avoid screen reflection caused by the open top.

The seats are in a 2+2 layout to fully meet the needs of daily travel, while the rear will accommodate the soft-top convertible mechanism. In addition, when the vehicle speed is below 60 km/h, the top with Z-shaped foldable fabric can be opened and closed in 15 seconds and is equipped with an AIRSCARF head and neck warming system to further enhance the comfort of passengers.

In terms of power, the new SL 55 4MATIC+ and SL 63 4MATIC+ models will be the first to be launched, both equipped with 4.0T V8 engines. The SL 55 4MATIC+ delivers a maximum power of 350 kW (476PS) and peak torque of 700 N-m, with a zero-hundred acceleration time of 3.9 seconds. The SL 63 4MATIC+ model produces 430 kW (585PS) and 800 N-m peak torque, with a zero-hundred acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.

Both models are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and offer six driving modes, including "track" mode. In the future, the new car will also be available as a plug-in hybrid model, which is expected to be officially launched in 2023.

The SL will also be equipped with full-time four-wheel drive for the first time, with active rear-wheel steering to effectively reduce the turning radius and improve handling stability at high speeds, which is also the first time the SL family models are equipped with these two systems. The new car is also equipped with an active suspension system with active hydraulic roll stabilization and an optional rear-axle limited-slip differential。
