The new Honda Shuttle

Honda released official pictures of the new Honda Shuttle in May this year, which is a mid-cycle variant of the second-generation Honda Shuttle (the first-generation model is based on the second-generation Fit and is called "Fit Shuttle") with upgrades in exterior and other aspects. Launched in Japan in April 2015, the second-generation Honda Shuttle is based on the third-generation Fit and is designed as a station wagon, while the chassis structure, wheelbase, and powertrain are the same as those of the Fit. The new car will be publicly unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, which opens in October.

Compared to the old model, the new Shuttle has been adjusted for the front styling, with changes occurring at the lower air intake and the badge in the center of the grille. As you can see, the new car uses a lower air inlet with a running chrome strip, the shape is more refined than the old model, while the fog lamps are also changed to strip LED light source type. At the same time, the new car's front logo became a solid design, the position moved down a little while the size also became larger.

As a facelift model, the side shape of the new Shuttle has not changed, continuing the style of the third generation Fit, including a strong sense of concave waistline, folded lower waistline, and A-pillar triangle window. However, the new car has a new style of closed-spoke wheels. The rear part of the car, the new Shuttle taillight group light cavity shape has been upgraded, adding an LED light band, and looks more fashionable. In addition, the new car's rear surround on both sides of the hole design has been removed, becoming more simple.

Dimensions, the new car's length, width, and height of 4400mm/1695mm/1545-1570mm, the rear of the car compared to the Japanese version of the third generation Fit lengthened by about 400mm, and the car width remains the same at the same time, the car height has a small increase. In terms of wheelbase, the Shuttle and Fit are the same 2530mm.

In the interior, the new Shuttle continues the design and layout of the old model, with only minor adjustments to the details, such as replacing the color of the center console air vents trim frame with glossy black, and changing the new style of seat fabric and door trim panels. In addition, the multi-function steering wheel, central touch screen, electronic gearshift (hybrid model), automatic air conditioning, etc. continue to be equipped in the new car.

As the "extended Fit", the new Shuttle continues the excellent space performance of the old model, and the mid-tank chassis brings excellent rear riding space. In the trunk, the 400mm extension of the body brings good basic space, and the rear seats support a 4/6 ratio split down, and can be completely flat, the trunk volume can be extended to 1141 liters at this time, and the depth can reach 184cm.
