The Other Famous Star Cars

Famous cars from television shows and movies such as the General Lee car or KITT from Knight Rider made an impression on fans who like cars. The “Bat Mobile” from the series and movies called Batman. In some movies and shows, there were other cars that really made an impression of fans.

Think of the movie Christine. The star car of the movie was a 1958 Plymouth Fury called “Christine.” There were also two other cars in the movie that stood out to car collector fans. One of those cars was the 69 Camaro that the character Buddy Repperton drove in the movie. It was grey with black racing strip from the hood to the trunk of the car.

Fans of course wanted the Christine car, but also wanted the Camaro. Another car from the same movie was the 68 Dodge Charger that the character Dennis Gilder drove. People wanted that car too. Those cars were not supposed to stand out as they did. They should be called the secondary star cars.

In the first reunion move of Dukes of Hazzard, another car stood out to fans. The car was a 68 or 67 Mustang Fastback. It was blue with flames on the front fenders and two zeros on the doors. It was called “Double Zero.” It was a car that was racing the General Lee. In Dukes history, it was the only car that has ever beaten the General in a race.

It is obvious that the writers of the movie loosely recreated a race/chase scene from the movie Bullitt that starred Steve McQueen. That movie featured a chase scene between a 68 charger and a 68 Mustang Fastback. There are double zero replicas out there that people have built because of the reunion Dukes movie.

In 1980, the movie 9 to 5 starring Dolly Pardon, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin had a car that stood out in that movie. It was a 1969 Buick Skylark. Some fast driving scenes made the car stand out. It also was an underrated muscle car. Another movie called Milk Money, had a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that stood out. This one did not stand out as much as the others.

It is a memorable car from the movie. It is amazing that a car that was not supposed to become wanted by fans is wanted by fans. That is because it made an impression on fans who love cars.
