Powerful, innovative and agile the all new Volkswagen Touareg R eHybrid

Volkswagen has initiated pre-sales for the all-new Touareg R eHybrid, marking the launch of their flagship model in the premium series. This plug-in hybrid vehicle boasts the most powerful drive system among all standard Volkswagen models currently available. With optimized suspension and advanced high-tech features, the Touareg R establishes itself as the pinnacle of electric SUVs within the Volkswagen brand. Notable redesigns can be seen at the front and rear, accompanied by a more luxurious interior and an enhanced Innovision Cockpit that offers a highly intuitive experience. The starting price for the Touareg R eHybrid is €93,870.

Peter Jost, the Head of Marketing & Sales at Volkswagen R, the premium performance brand of Volkswagen, expresses his enthusiasm, stating, "The Touareg R eHybrid represents our ultimate flagship model. No other vehicle combines such impressive performance, travel comfort, driving dynamics, and personalized features. Furthermore, it showcases outstanding off-road capabilities and serves as the ideal towing vehicle for demanding tasks, with a trailer weight capacity of 3.5 tonnes."

Equipped with a superior drive system and a new suspension generation, the Touareg R eHybrid features a standard 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged engine combined with an electric drive motor. This powertrain delivers a system output of 340 kW (462 PS) and torque of 700 Nm. These specifications enable the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. Notably, the new model incorporates a roof load sensor that interfaces with the suspension electronics, enhancing stability and precision during both dynamic and comfort-oriented driving scenarios.

The Touareg R eHybrid introduces numerous innovations, both as standard and optional features. Standard highlights include the redesigned Innovision Cockpit, which offers a central touchscreen measuring 38 centimeters (15 inches) diagonally, and the new IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights. These headlights utilize over 38,000 interactive LEDs to project a precise light carpet onto the driving lane, significantly improving road illumination. Another optional advanced feature available for the Touareg R eHybrid is Park Assist Pro, which facilitates remotely controlled parking. By utilizing the Volkswagen App on a smartphone, drivers can effortlessly navigate in and out of parking spaces, even in tight quarters.

Additionally, the new Touareg R eHybrid exhibits distinctive features as standard equipment, such as the sporty Black Style design elements (including R-specific front bumper inserts, black tailpipes, and glossy black roof rails), blue brake calipers with the R logo, a red illuminated VW logo in the rear, R logo projection via exterior mirror housings as surround lighting, blue interior accents, Vienna leather seats with Crystal Grey stitching (optional sustainable Puglia leather with blue stitching), 21-inch "Leeds" alloy wheels combined with air suspension, sill panel mouldings with illuminated R logo, a vehicle key with a leather-covered cap and R logo, panoramic sliding sunroof, and a 4-zone air conditioning system.

Upon request, the flagship model can be equipped with additional 21-inch and 22-inch alloy wheels. Furthermore, in addition to the traditional Lapiz Blue metallic R color, customers can now select the optional Silicon Grey matt paintwork for the Touareg R eHybrid.
