Porsche has unveiled the new flagship model of the 911 series. Available in hardtop and convertible versions, both are powered by a new 3.8-liter horizontally opposed (Boxer) engine with two turbochargers with variable turbine geometry (VTG), producing 478 kW (650 PS) and a peak torque of 800 NM (50 NM more), paired with an 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) designed specifically for the Turbo models. PDK). The acceleration time from zero to 100 km/h has been reduced to 2.7 seconds (0.2 seconds shorter) and the top speed remains at 330 km/h.

The new engine in the new 911 Turbo S is based on the engine in the current 911 Carrera model and features a redesigned charge air cooling system; a new, larger variable turbine geometry (VTG) supercharger arranged symmetrically from left to right, together with an electrically adjustable exhaust gas bypass valve and piezoelectric fuel nozzles, significantly improves the vehicle's responsiveness, output, torque characteristics The new six-cylinder engine features a new engine design with a new engine design.

The new six-cylinder engine features a new air intake system. The intake path and the cooling path of the charge air have been changed as a result, and some of the intake air now enters through the Turbo model's unique rear-side air inlet. The air filter is now located in the new rear fender and brings together two additional air streams through the rear grille.

This means that the new 911 Turbo S has four air intakes with a larger cross-sectional area and less drag, helping to further improve engine efficiency. The two enlarged turbochargers with variable geometry turbines (VTG) are symmetrical in structure, replacing the previously identical components, and the left and right turbines now rotate in opposite directions. The exhaust turbine diameter has been increased by 5 mm to 55 mm and the compressor diameter has been increased by 3 mm to 61 mm. The exhaust gas bypass valve is controlled by a stepper motor actuator.

These designs combine to give the new 911 Turbo S an excellent balance of driving pleasure, dynamics, and sporting performance, both in everyday driving and on the race track. The new 911 Turbo S makes a particularly significant leap in performance when accelerating from a standstill to 200 km/h: this can be done in 8.9 seconds, a full second less than in its predecessor.

Thanks to the four-wheel drive system with enhanced Porsche Traction Management (PTM), up to 500 NM of torque can now be transmitted to the front wheels. The new generation PASM chassis is also sportier as standard: the dampers are more responsive and more precisely controlled, resulting in significantly improved roll stability, grip, steering characteristics and cornering speed.

The new front end with widened air intake gives the Turbo a distinctive look, with twin headlight modules and standard LED matrix headlights. A redesigned front aerodynamic spoiler and larger rear wing increase downforce by 15 percent and a muscular rear wing with integrated air inlets smooth out the body of the new 911 Turbo S. The new rear design also includes the Turbo's characteristic high-gloss black square exhaust tailpipes.

The total width at the front is 1,840 mm (45 mm wider) and at the rear 1,900 mm (20 mm wider). An improved wheelbase, improved aerodynamics and new tires of different sizes enhance the agility and sportiness of the 911 Turbo S. The adaptive aerodynamics system now also includes controllable front cooling air deflectors, and a larger rear wing further increases downforce.

For the first time, the 911 Turbo S has different tire sizes for the front and rear axles. The front axle is equipped with unique 20-inch 255/35 tires and the rear axle with 21-inch 315/30 tires. New options further enhance the sporty style of the four-wheel drive 911. For example, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports chassis reduces ground clearance by a further 10 mm, and the sports exhaust system with adjustable valves produces an even more distinctive exhaust note.

Bespoke interior

The interior of the new 911 Turbo S has a high-quality, sporty feel. Standard equipment includes full leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim with silver accents. As an option, a new two-tone interior designed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche's exclusive customization division, is available, which offers outstanding coordination of colors, materials, and enhanced personalization.18 The stitching towards the sporty seats pays homage to the first generation of the 911 Turbo (930 model). The premium graphic display elements and logos on the instrument cluster are also distinctive of the Turbo models.

Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is now equipped with a 10.9-inch central display in a new layout that enables quick operation without distracting the driver. Other features include a GT sports steering wheel, Sport Chrono components, the newly integrated Porsche Track Precision application, and a BOSE® surround sound audio system.
