New Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 Sports Car Legends Exhibition was officially opened, which focuses on the history and models of Porsche's classic 911 car lineup.

New car profile.

In a brief review, the new Porsche 911 continues to adopt the main design features and body lines of the three generations (996/997/991) since the line entered the water-cooled era. In the front section, the elliptical headlight cluster is its most obvious and recognizable feature, with a matrix LED light source; at the same time, the new 911's front surround is more rounded than the old model, although the rectangular front air inlet still brings some hardness to it. The front hatch, front fender, and front bumper have changed, with a more rigid split line between the three.

From the side of the car, the new 911 retains the classic side proportions and the shape of the side windows that have been adopted since the 996 generation, but the body looks more slender, and the widening of the rear wheel wings is also very obvious. It is understood that the width of the rear of the new 911 will be unified across the entire lineup, and the width of the rear wings will no longer be "differentiated" according to the power level of the old model. In addition, the new car is equipped with electrically extendable recessed door handles. It is also worth mentioning that the new car has an aluminum body to assist in the lightweight of the vehicle.

The rear part of the car should be the most changed area of the new 911. The new 911 features the latest Porsche family style through-headlights, which are flatter and slimmer and have a sharp look. In addition, a ribbed line has been added to the rear surround, and the entire rear end is no longer as round as the current model. The black trim panel at the bottom is rectangular and echoes the air inlet at the front, while the license plate mount and the bilateral two-exit exhaust are also integrated into it, making the sense of hierarchy more prominent.

In terms of the interior, the new generation of 911 pays more attention to technological attributes while inheriting the classics. The new car inherits the five-link meter instrument panel of previous generations of 911 models, but except for the central tachometer, which is a mechanical pointer, the four dials on the left and right sides have been upgraded to LCD screens, displaying information such as hourly speed, water temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. At the same time, the new car is equipped with a new style three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and electronic gear knob, while the central air conditioning vents and air conditioning control area have also been moved to the corner of the T-shaped area of the center console in front of the gear knob.

As for the vehicle system, the 10.9-inch touchscreen of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system enables quick and intuitive operation. It has a built-in Porsche Connect Plus module upgrade and enables rich in-car connectivity functions such as online navigation based on cluster data.

In terms of safety features, the new 911 features the first-ever "Wet Mode", which is standard on the new 911 and allows the driver to pre-set the handling system by detecting the amount of water on the road and warning the driver by pressing the corresponding button or using the mode switch function on the steering wheel after the optional Sport Chrono package. The new 911 also comes standard with Warning and Brake Assist, which detects the possibility of a collision between the vehicle and any moving object and applies the emergency brake autonomously if necessary. In addition, the new 911 can be equipped with more auxiliary functions required in emergencies, such as infrared thermal imaging, adaptive cruise control, automatic distance maintenance, automatic following start/stop, emergency braking, and occupant protection.

In terms of power, the 911 Cabrera series is equipped with a 3.0T twin-turbocharged six-cylinder horizontally opposed aluminum engine with a maximum power of 385 hp and a peak torque of 450 NM, and the transmission is partially matched with a new 8-speed PD K dual-clutch transmission. With the optional Sport Chrono package, this acceleration time is increased to 4.0 seconds and 4.2 seconds respectively. The acceleration times for the FWD version remain unchanged.

The 911 Cabrera S is also powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with 450 hp and 530 NM of peak torque, and a new 8-speed PD K dual-clutch transmission. In terms of performance, with the optional Sport Chrono package, the rear-wheel drive Cabrera S hardtop accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds and the four-wheel drive Cabrera 4S in 3.4 seconds, with top speeds of 308km/h and 306km/h for the Cabrera S and Cabrera 4S respectively. The 911 Cabrera S Cabriolet accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds (up to 3.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package) and has a top speed of 306km/h, while the 911 Cabrera 4S Cabriolet accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package, up to 3.7 seconds. The optional Chrono package increases the acceleration time to 3.6 seconds.
