The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC+ model is officially launched. The new car is equipped with the M139 2.0T inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine made by one person and one machine.

The exterior design of the Mercedes-AMG GLA45S is nearly 80% similar to that of the Mercedes-AMG GLA35, with the exterior differences between the Mercedes-AMG GLA45S and Mercedes-AMG GLA35 being reflected in the details. The GLA45S has a larger opening under the front bumper than the GLA35 to accommodate the large air intake and cooling requirements; the GLA45S has a front bumper with a slightly protruding front lip and air blade, and the GLA45S uses more black elements such as glossy black mirror housings and window frames.

The sides of the GLA45 are not much changed compared to the regular version. The GLA45 comes with 19-inch wheels as standard, while the GLA45S comes with 20-inch wheels as standard and 21-inch wheels are available as an option. The front brakes of the GLA45 are equipped with 4-piston calipers and 350 mm diameter brake discs, while the GLA45S is equipped with 6-piston calipers and 360 mm brake discs. Of course, the GLA45 is available with the same upgraded brake system as the GLA45S in the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS option package.

At the rear, the GLA45 differs from the GLA35 in that it has a fixed rear wing and a bilateral four-exit exhaust. At the exhaust, the GLA45S differs slightly from the GLA45 in the 8 mm increase in the caliber of the exhaust pipe and the engraving of the AMG logo.

The interior of the GLA45 is the usual AMG model, with an AMG sports steering wheel, carbon fiber trim, and AMG sports bucket seats. This time, the GLA45S adds more yellow elements to the interior, including yellow stitching, steering wheel back to the center logo, and center console trim. The GLA45S also comes standard with the AMG DYNAMICS tuning system, while the GLA45 is available with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS option package.

The most exciting part of the GLA45 is undoubtedly its mechanical specification, which is the essence of the GLA45. The one-man-built M139 2.0T inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine (same as the A45 and CLA45) is tuned differently in the GLA45 and GLA45S, with the maximum power of the machine set at 285 kW (388 PS) in the GLA45 and 310 kW (422 PS) in the GLA45S. Mated to the engines is the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8G dual-clutch transmission, which changes its response depending on the driving mode. And the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ four-wheel drive system is standard.

The 2.0T engine can squeeze out 400PS of performance without the technology behind it. The engine adopts an inverse setting, with the intake front reducing the length of the intake manifold and improving the efficiency of the engine's operation. The twin-scroll single-turbo setup reduces turbo lag, and the low-drag bearing makes the turbo more responsive. Exaggeratedly, the maximum boost value of this engine turbo can reach up to 2.1 bar (high power version of the engine).

In addition, the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ four-wheel drive system on the GLA45 is also worth mentioning. This four-wheel drive system integrates AMG Torque Control, which distributes torque between the front and rear, left and right wheels through a multi-plate clutch.

The chassis of the GLA45 has also been strengthened, with adjustments to the settings reducing body roll and the use of aluminum alloy swing arms enhancing the chassis' response. At the same time, the AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension system allows the GLA45 to switch between sport and comfort.

As a final note, the GLA45's AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system offers six driving modes - "Slippery", "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport+" "Inpidual" and "RACE" - in which the engine, transmission, four-wheel drive, suspension and ESP have corresponding settings.
