MEET THE ALL-NEW BRABUS ROCKET 900

THE BRABUS ROCKET 900:

The Brabus model comes with changes inside and out, but the biggest changes have happened under the hood. The car didn’t just receive some extra horses and torque; Brabus also increased the displacement of the V8 powerhouse.

Brabus has been building high-performance supercars based on Mercedes Benz AMG vehicles for more than 40 years now and this tradition now continues under the BRABUS MASTERPIECE label with the new BRABUS ROCKET 900. The Brabus Rocket 900 will be a super-exclusive limited edition of which just 10 Rockets will be built and is based on the Mercedes AMG GT63 S 4MATIC+.

At the heart of the Brabus Rocket 900 is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with increased-displacement, which thanks to the displacement increase to 4.5 liters and a new high performance forced-induction system, now delivers a peak output of 662 kW / 900 hp (888 bhp). Although the V8 engine produces a peak torque of 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft), it is limited in the vehicle to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft). What’s the point in extra power if you cannot get it to the ground right?

Along with the increase in displacement, the Brabus Rocket 900 “One Of Ten” receives two new Brabus turbochargers as well. They have a larger compressor unit than the production components and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings. These turbochargers increase the maximum boost pressure to 1.4 bar (20.3 PSI).

In combination with the Speed Shift MCT 9-speed sports transmission & all-wheel-drive, the 4-seat coupe propels itself from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 ticks. The car reaches 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 23.9 seconds. For a comparison, that’s just slightly slower than Lamborghini Huracans and the like however the Brabus Rocket 900 has room for the family and their luggage as well comfortably as it is a four-door sedan. In essence, it’s a four-door supercar you can drive to the race track in and from there go pick up the kids from football practice and swing by the grocery store on your way home. Sounds rather versatile, don’t you think?

Due to the tires, the top speed is electronically limited to 330 km/h (205 mph), again supercar performance numbers. In order to put the tremendous power of the new Brabus onto the road optimally, the Brabus Rocket 900 "One Of Ten" is equipped with extremely wide Monoblock Z wheels (21 inches sitting at the front and 22 inches fit snug in the rear.) High-performance tires are supplied by Pirelli and to create space for them, Brabus designers developed a carbon widebody with thrilling styling. The matching aerodynamic-enhancement components were developed in the wind tunnel to produce more downforce & thus increase the handling stability at high speeds.

Brabus also offers buyers of this rare “supercar sedan” the option to custom-tailor the interior of the vehicle to their personal preferences with a bespoke Masterpiece interior.

In order to give the supercar that aggressive Brabus bold look, the designers at Brabus developed the thrillingly styled BRABUS ROCKET 900 widebody for the four-door coupe. The components are manufactured from high-strength, yet lightweight carbon. The front features new wider fenders with integrated sweeping flares. At the rear axle, carbon fender flares add 7.8 centimeters (3.1 inches) to the overall width of the GT. Of course, this conversion also includes tailor-made fender liners made from Kevlar. The aerodynamics play an important role in the speed ranges the new Brabus Rocket 900 “One Of Ten” supercar can reach, and reach very quickly. This is the reasoning behind the development of the Rocket’s carbon fiber front fascia, which provides a perfect transition to the wider carbon front fenders: The larger air intakes supply the engine and the front brakes with fresh air. The air intakes integrated into the radiator grille are part of the ram-air intake system. The spoiler integrated into this front-end component was shaped to further reduce front-axle lift, creating what’s called downforce.

In order to achieve the most optimal aerodynamic balance, the Brabus design team went into the wind tunnel to develop a multi-piece carbon rear wing and a rear diffuser made from that same hi-tech compound for the Brabus Rocket 900 "One Of Ten". Other decidedly sporty accents on the body include naked carbon panels at the sides of the rear bumper and carbon covers for the side mirrors.

All in all, if you like super sporty four-door sedan supercars with nearly 900 horsepower and loads of carbon fiber greatness, then you’ll love the Brabus Rocket 900 “One Of Ten” for sure.

What are your thoughts on the all-new Brabus Rocket 900? 👍 or 👎?
