Lamborghini's new SUV, Lamborghini Urus, debuted. The new vehicle is equipped with a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine and has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds. As the world's fastest production fuel SUV, the Urus not only has excellent performance but also has a typical Lamborghini style in terms of appearance. In addition, the car was previously announced at its world premiere.

Exterior

The Urus concept was first released in 2012, and as far as the production version is concerned, the new car continues the design language of the concept car. The Urus is also very much in line with Lamborghini's family design philosophy, with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights in the headlights and a honeycomb grille underneath, giving the car an overall sense of hierarchy.

The rear of the car also retains a lot of design details of the Urus concept, for example, the rear end continues to adopt a lot of sharp lines, the LED taillights still adopt the family style "Y" style, and the top of the rear end is also equipped with a rear spoiler, the style remains aggressive. The dimensions of the new car are 5112/2016/1638 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3003 mm, which is larger than the Timex and Cayenne Turbo S.

Interior

Inside, the Urus also maintains Lamborghini's usual combat style. The center console has a layout similar to an aircraft cockpit, with two LCD screens above and below to show more information. In addition, the new air conditioning vents, central water cup holder, full LCD instrument cluster and central multimedia display outline all adopt the signature hexagonal design, the ignition button is still flip type and offers seven driving modes including STRADA (street), SPORT (sport), CORSA (track), SABBIA (gravel), TERRA (off-road), NEVE (snow) and EGO (custom). Seven driving modes are available, including STRADA, SPORT, CORSA, SABBIA, TERRA, NEVE, and EGO (Custom).

Space

Space, according to previous experience, the wheelbase of more than 3 meters still brings good comfort inside the car. 177cm tall medical examiner has one fist and one finger of head space in the front row, and the sitting position and vision are felt well. The rear space has a fist and three fingers distance or is very spacious, daily ride 4-5 people or no problem.

The Urus is powered by a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine with a maximum power of 650 hp (478 kW) and a peak torque of 850 Nm. The transmission system is matched with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of performance, the official claim is that the car accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200km/h in 12.8 seconds and has a top speed of over 305km/h. In addition, the car's 100-0 km/h braking distance is 33.7 meters.

Model History

The Urus was not Lamborghini's first SUV, but the Lamborghini LM002 (based on the LM001 military off-road vehicle) was the first production SUV in the mid-80s. In 1984, Lamborghini was taken over by the Mimran Group, which made it possible to finance the LM002, based on the Cheetah model. The name "LM" is an abbreviation of "Lamborghini Militaria", which translates to "Lamborghini armament" in Chinese. The LM002 is a civilian off-road vehicle with a military pedigree. The Urus, however, is now a more purely high-performance SUV from Lamborghini.

Competitors

The hot SUV market in the last two years has led many manufacturers to set their sights on it, and there is no shortage of ultra-luxury brands among them, the Lamborghini Urus is one of the best examples. And when it comes to competitors each car in the ultra-luxury brand SUV camp is a unique presence. For example, the Bentley Timbers and the Maserati Levante have been unveiled, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan (code name) and the Aston Martin DBX have not yet been unveiled, all of which have very distinctive labels and personalities. But for the respective brands, when the traditional super luxury car or super sports car sales are more difficult to break through, SUV models will become a new direction of sales growth.

Summary.

For an SUV, the Lamborghini Urus is stunning enough, with plenty of Lamborghini design elements to make people remember this model at a glance. For a brand that has previously focused on supercars, it's not easy to take this step, but as of now, the Urus is still getting very good reviews and will have a good market performance in the future. After all, it is still very exciting to have a very practical Lamborghini.
