InfiMotion Technology stepped out of the shadows on July 16, staging a high-profile technology showcase in Wuxi, China, that marked its formal debut as an independent supplier to the global automotive industry. The event laid bare the company's vertically integrated capabilities from cloud-synced global R&D and extreme-condition validation to micron-level smart manufacturing as it bids to become a household name among electric vehicle makers.

"Let the world know InfiMotion," said CEO Joe Lin. "We have spent years perfecting our e-drive technology for leading global automakers, and we are now ready to stand on our own as a trusted partner for the wider market."

The company is already shipping high-voltage electric drive systems to major automakers including Geely, Volvo, and Jaguar Land Rover. In the first half of 2026, InfiMotion ranked among China's top three suppliers by volume for both electric motors and inverters, underscoring its rapid ascent in the new-energy vehicle supply chain.

A Global R&D Machine

InfiMotion's engineering footprint stretches across Wuxi, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Gothenburg, Sweden. More than 1,000 engineers, including a Swedish team exceeding 100, collaborate in real time via cloud-based platforms. The company says its "globalization DNA" is shaped by real-world extremes: high-load endurance runs on European autobahns, cold starts in Nordic winters, and full-load operation in the tropical heat of Southeast Asia.

The technical pedigree is backed by a string of industry firsts. InfiMotion has pioneered Umini-pin winding technology, 0.2mm ultra-thin silicon steel laminations, and embedded three-level power control module technology. It is also leading the drafting of industry standards for amorphous alloy materials.

Validation That Goes to Extremes

InfiMotion operates under ASPICE Level 3 processes and holds ASIL-D certification under the ISO 26262 functional safety standard. Its validation regimen is exhaustive: temperature cycling from -60°C to 140°C, 1,500-hour salt-spray corrosion tests, and 2,500-hour comprehensive endurance runs. For a single European premium brand, the company said it must complete more than 9,000 individual test items.

The firm's testing center, accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, houses what it claims is the world's first 30,000 rpm motor test bench.

Micron-Level Manufacturing

Five smart manufacturing bases across China in Wuxi, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Quzhou, and Jiaxing form the backbone of InfiMotion's production network. Motor line automation has reached 95%. Surface-mount technology accuracy is held to ±25 microns, measurement instruments can resolve features down to 0.1 microns, and an AI-powered visual inspection system detects defects as small as 20 microns.

Full Coverage, Global Reach

InfiMotion's product portfolio spans the full voltage spectrum from 400V to 900V, covering everything from compact A0-class vehicles to supercars. Its supply network extends across China, Europe, and Malaysia, with vertical integration that runs from key components to complete e-drive systems.

"The InfiMotion era has just begun," Lin said, framing the company's ambition to deliver what it calls "proven, traceable, and mass-producible Chinese e-drive solutions" to automakers worldwide.

Industry Implications

For the global auto industry, InfiMotion's emergence adds a formidable new player to the EV supply base. With volume production already validated by Geely, Volvo, and JLR, the company moves beyond the prototype stage into the ranks of Tier 1 suppliers capable of supporting high-volume vehicle programs.

Its emphasis on in-house, full-stack R&D from materials science to system integration could pressure established suppliers on both cost and technology, particularly as automakers seek to diversify their supply chains beyond legacy incumbents. The company's ability to combine Chinese manufacturing scale with European engineering expertise positions it as a unique competitor in the rapidly evolving e-drive market.

As the global automotive industry continues its transition toward electrification, InfiMotion's public debut signals that the competitive landscape is shifting and that Chinese suppliers are no longer content to remain in the shadows.
