What is a car if not the the iconic way of living with one, that idea that ingenuity and a vestid interest in high speed travel, could end up producing something so magnificent that is changes the way the industry of mechanics see artwork in motion. Cars may not be the flowery essense of a rose or the blooming of a rose bush against the backdrop of a deep red sunset, but the subtle details and macho machine dynamics make the inner essence of a car seem more like muscle built from steel, torque and octane. CArs are the functioning mechanic in total aspect of how one has the ability to see the rest of the world, as a working car means more than just an expanded sensibility, but the ability to expand ones own point of view. Back in the day, it was common practice to judge someone by how they maintain their cars, as their cars where seens as icons more important than ones ability to actually socialize. Having a car meant you where well educated, respectful, strong, smart, brave- but now with the current sigma placed on travelers and adventurers and machinists alike who try to break away from some of the terrible stories given about men smart with cars, it is hard to imagine what the humble aspect of owning a car can make some seem like a social poison. As most serial killers, gang members, reign spies and the likes of a more detrimental point of low society, value vehicles in their ability to carry out crime, some people still try to put the effort towards keeping a more presentable and approachable aspect to being a brooding mechanic, trying to perfect the art of the car. Those people work tirelessly to make cars and the memories of better times last, as we all keep ourselves ever attentive to the ticking digital clock of a quickly approaching future of things to technological for any of us to afford within a reasonable budget. These cars represent a great of time and place, and their monument to times that kept many people sane and safe on the road, is what they really mean to a great deal of car appreciators who know little about how the west was won over with horsepower and heavy metal.

This article is about more than just judging cars, but trying to connect with a history of life that most only find hidden in a car garage, or kept secret where most secrets are kept.

Part one of judging cars: The make and Model

Part one of judging a car is pretty simple, The make and model of a car is a significant judging point of a car, it is not so much how expensive the car is, but any interesting story that you can tell given the cars history on the road or in race car competitions. The make and model lets you know about a great deal about the cars ability to handle modern problems, as well as other records, accomplishments, movie roles and history placements that the car can be found being a part of. Its commercial capability is what first attracts people to the car, its style, its reference, its paint job, what gas it takes, what special or limited offers where made on the car, and especially how uncommon that the the make might be.

AS it is every so often you will come across a special edition car, that is almost impossible to find somewhere else. Special edition cars, are often cars made to commemorate some type of merger, political ordeal, technological advancement, or image change made in a company. They reflect sometimes, the special events that take place in a certain country, and what the greatest demands in a car where in the year that a car was made.

Each new slight redesign in a car model, makes it a part of a certain collection of cars, that give a partial value in both its ability to be repaired and its ability to be restored. Each car Comes with a "VIN", or Vin Number, that will help you determine what modification or repairs have been made on the vehicle.

The Cat that is the most complete with machining VIN numbers on the parts, often scores the most points, when reviewing the make and model of the car.

The Ford Torino above was an exceptionally rare car to see at any competition. Although not Fords most popular car, it does score extra points on the reference, to any late or early films featuring the car. As a main character. The Tarino is legendary as it was once used in one of the most intense chase films in the united state, "Point Blank", as well the oscar winning film "Grand Tarino".

Next Paint and Interior: The Mock Up of a Classic car

The Next subject to explore when looking into the judging decision of a classic car, are of course the paint job and the interior. As most Cars are sometimes often convertibles, these subjects can often be pared together in the determined to over all beauty of a car. This however is not to count out the "Gremlin"; or rust style paint job as a car, made to look old, is in fact a running rad racing machine with a story to tell behind it. These two types of paint styles come with their own determinations of paint appliance, and often can lead to two distinctive point sets of a classic car.

Gremlin Car: To start, a gremlin car is a car that left in is original rust state, from when the repair was started, meaning that it still has it original paint job. This scores points in the aspect of car for the car. As a modern paint job is known to last only five to ten years, a gremlin paint job is the total dedication to the fact that a car is classic and authentic.

Cherry: A cherry Car is a redone paint job, one that was put in place to add to a restorative value of the car. Cherry paint job lose points in over all minting of a car, if they are not the original paint job. However, the paint jo does show respect to the cars make and model, as a hot rod, cruiser, muscle car or race car, or show room car, modified or repaired. The common practice of a cherry paint job, is to embellish the show room nature of a car, and capture an essence not intended to be shown by the original cars make. This is to show off your skills as a painter, or artist, or mechanic, and builds into the aspect of a better sense of the car and what it means on a personal, or professional level.

When judging Cherry paint, these are things to consider.

-Wax and finish. determining the scratch patterns if any on the paint of the car that allow it its sheen, or glow. Like the polishing of anything to be like steel, the best way to achieve wax, is to go with the most unnoticeable wax marks as possible, With smooth concentric circling, to achieve a mirror like surface. The mirror not suppose to be completely perfect, but shows skill in craftsmanship and diligence. It is very difficult to wax a car into perfection, so the science and skill behind doing this does apply to a cars ability to get points.

-Paint type. Their a number of paint types to be considered when dealing with the chromatic nature of a car. The care can come in a number of paint styles, and colors. But the car scores more points if the type of paint is vintage. Paint jobs can be flat, glossy, super glossy, have color changing imprints or be graded in the a type of under sheen.

-Blemishes and cracks. Genuinely cars lose points on cracks and belishes in the paint, if the car applies to the Cherry paint job that has been applies to the car. These markes can determine if the car has been repaired or refitted, and if the car has ever been in any accidents. This also shows the skill in craftsmanship and metal work with the car owner. Cars that have been through accidents, have to do with a history factor, that I will explain later.

-Chrome. One of the hardest things to master is the chrome of a car. But having clear chrome can determine not only the skill in cartaking of a car, but the skill of actual driver. Bumps and dents, and rust, can show that the driver does not have a proper storage or car area, or does not know the secret to polishing chrome. Allot of different metal aspects, can change a great deal about how a car is viewed.

All of the above mentioned details all tie into the

of the car, and those things I will discuss in a further article. How to Judge Classic Cars (PART 2).
