Genesis Magma GT Concept Interior Revealed: A Leather Lover's Dream with Minimal Screens
Forget massive touchscreens. Genesis just reminded us what a luxury grand tourer should feel like.
Remember the Genesis Magma GT? That stunning, V-8-powered, curvy concept car that Genesis revealed last November? Of course you do. You probably still dream about it.
Well, prepare to update those dreams. Genesis just gave us our first look at the Magma GT concept's interior and it is just as breathtaking as the exterior.

A Leather Waterfall (Sorry, Cows)
Let's start with the obvious. The Magma GT concept's interior is absolutely drenched in leather.
Genesis describes the cabin as being "awash

" with quilted walnut brown leather. And they are not exaggerating. The material covers the seats, the dashboard, the door cards, and the center console. It is everywhere and somehow, it works.

The upper armrests on the doors blend smoothly into the dashboard and then down to the center console. The effect is interrupted only by a small screen and the gear selector, creating what looks like a leather waterfall parted by a metal shifter.
It is dramatic. It is luxurious. And it feels like a deliberate rejection of the cold, screen-heavy interiors that dominate modern luxury cars.

Genesis describes the Magma GT as a "luxury grand tourer" a term that has lost some meaning in recent years. But looking at this interior, the phrase feels earned.
Minimal Screens, Maximum Driver Focus
Here is where the Magma GT concept really distinguishes itself from the competition.

Most luxury automakers are racing to see who can install the biggest, brightest, most distracting screen. Genesis went the opposite direction.
The interior focuses more on tactile controls and driver engagement than on luring customers in with screens or tech. A simple tachometer is mounted directly behind the steering wheel. Three smaller digital gauges sit on the center of the dash.

That is it. That is the screen count.
Yes, there is one rectangular unit at the top of the transmission tunnel. But it is small, unobtrusive, and clearly secondary to the driving experience.
This is a concept interior designed for people who actually enjoy driving not for people who want a living room on wheels.

Bare Metal and Soft Touches
The interior is not all leather. Genesis mixed in bare metal accents that provide visual contrast and a sense of mechanical honesty.
The gear shifter is metal. The air vents appear to be metal. Small trim pieces throughout the cabin catch the light and remind you that this is a performance car, not just a luxury lounge.
The combination of soft, quilted leather and hard, reflective metal creates tension. It is comfortable but not soft. Luxurious but not indulgent. It is the interior equivalent of a perfectly tailored suit elegant, purposeful, and undeniably masculine.
The GT3 Racing Connection
This weekend marks the 2026 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The timing of Genesis's interior reveal is not accidental.
Genesis also revealed a GT3 version of the Magma GT concept, though technical details remain scarce. What we know is that the race car and the road car share design DNA. The aggressive exterior lines, the driver-focused cockpit, the sense of purpose all of it translates from the track to the street.
Fans of motorsports will appreciate the connection. The Magma GT is not just a pretty face. It is a statement of intent from a brand that wants to compete at the highest levels of automotive performance.
What We Still Don't Know
Genesis is keeping us waiting on the technical details.
We expect the Magma GT to use some variant of the GMR-001 race car's V-8. Since Genesis does not currently make any other V-8 powertrains, speculation is running wild.
The most plausible theory: Genesis could mate two of its 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinders to create a twin-turbocharged V-8. A hybridized version is also possible, given the industry's shift toward electrification even in performance vehicles.
Whatever ends up under the hood, we expect the Magma GT to go on sale sometime in late 2027 or early 2028. More details should emerge in the months leading up to the car's arrival.
The Genesis Magma GT concept is shaping up to be one of the most exciting luxury grand tourers in years. The exterior is stunning. The interior is a masterclass in restrained elegance. And the decision to prioritize driver engagement over screen real estate feels refreshingly old-school in the best possible way.
Yes, the global bovine population might have concerns. But for anyone who values tactile controls, beautiful materials, and the simple joy of driving, the Magma GT concept is a beacon of hope.
Now we just need to see it on the road.
