Game On: BMW Is Taking Its Electric Cars Mainstream

Nearly all the major car manufacturers have at least one electric vehicle or an electrification plan in the works

Nearly all the major car manufacturers have at least one electric vehicle or an electrification plan in the works. However, no one has yet to come up with a viable line of EVs capable of challenging the work of Tesla, the leader in this field. This could be changing, however, as BMW is entering the market and coming in heavy.

It is not surprising that BMW has an electric vehicle programme. As we mentioned, every automaker has one these days. The way they implement it is what sets BMW's program apart and makes it a formidable competitor to Tesla. Since the launch of its "i" products, the i3 & i8 have been around for some time. Although they were odd looking at the time, BMW kept them there as it studied real-world issues of electric motoring like none other. The i8 was a hybrid sportscar that will be used for research purposes in future sports car programs. The i3, while not a very savory car, was an integral part of BMW's new technology strategy.

This offensive is multi-pronged and involves several components. It includes well-engineered electric cars that are ready to compete at full speed from the beginning. BMW spent a lot of time developing these cars and were fortunate no one was able to beat them. The new generation of electrified BMW models i will be excellent in their intended roles. People might need to play judi online to be able to afford these cars.

What's Hot in the Future?

The first wave of i-branded models will be the solely electric powered. We consider the BMW i4 four door coupe to be the most important. The teaser trailer suggests that this will be the first mass-produced EV that is fun to drive. The Tesla Model S is a great toy, but the Bimmer is a lot easier to use and much less trouble-prone due to that engineering prowess. The i4 will be manufactured in Munich starting in 2021. It boasts a sprint time of just 4 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 200 km/h. It is expected to cover more than 600 km.

The BMW iX3 hybrid SAV is next on the list. This is also known as the crossover. The first all-electric SAV has a range of more than 400 km and can be charged using DC charging stations that have a 150 kW capacity to do so. This makes it ideal for long-distance travel and day-to-day usage. The evidence doesn't seem to support the idea that this SAV is going to look great. BMW already showed us the final design of the model, which will be manufactured for the global market by the BMW Brilliance Automotive Joint Venture in Shenyang. It's quite ugly. It's impossible to say otherwise.

The BMW INEXT is the most mysterious. This car will be a luxurious Sports Activity Vehicle and feature a fifth-generation electric drive unit as well as systems for highly automated driving. It is also the most futuristic of all the vehicles in this stage. It will be spectacular, we are sure of it. However, details about the car are still very speculative so we won't bother. We'll be waiting patiently for the sexy new i4 to arrive.

It seems almost every manufacturer has been trying to promote it's electric cars to everyone, and now BMW has joined that group. However, although I am not a big fan of most electric car designs (I feel that they are sacrificing aesthetics for economics), but BMW has shocked me with these gorgeous designs. I am interested to see how other manufacturers will respond and what amazing designs they will come up with for their new electric cars.
