Mustang models equipped with V8 engines

Ford has unveiled the seventh generation of the Mustang (parameters 丨 pictures) family, and debuted at the 2022 North American Auto Show. The new seventh-generation Mustang will continue to adopt a two-door, four-seat sports car design, and provide two body structures: hardtop and convertible, as well as 2.3T L4 and 5.0L V8 power; the official also launched the seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse, to further strengthen the car's track driving performance. It is reported that the new seventh-generation Mustang will be launched overseas in the summer of 2023.

The new seventh-generation Mustang will be the last generation of the V8-engined Mustang to go on sale overseas in the summer of 2023.

1. The big V8 is still there, 6 MT and 10AT for selection

The new seventh-generation Mustang will be offered two types of power; among them, the entry model is equipped with a 2.3T L4 turbocharged engine, while the GT model is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 engine. It is worth mentioning that the 2.3T engine in the entry model has a new design and its internal structure has been redesigned to have better power response. The GT 5.0L V8 engine, on the other hand, has been improved for the gas distribution mechanism and is equipped with dual collector boxes and dual throttle valves.

Ford officials say that 10% of Mustang users will choose the manual transmission (GT models will be 40% of people choose the manual transmission), and the vast majority of users will choose 10AT. but even so, Ford still for the new seventh generation Mustang GT 5.0 V8 to provide 6 MT and 10AT transmission; while the 2.3T engine only matched 10AT.

The new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse is powered by a more unique 5.0L V8 Coyote engine with specially modified piston connecting rods; this engine was previously used in the Performance Mustang Shelby GT500 model, reaching 760 horsepower. Compared to the 5.0L V8 in the GT, the Mustang Dark Horse's engine has an enhanced dual-throttle intake design and a front grille with more protruding open air intakes.

At the same time, the new car is equipped with "Dark Horse" black horse badges on the front wings and other places; with a variety of personalized paint, making the car's appearance a strong sense of exclusivity.

The new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse comes standard with an exclusive 6-speed TREMEC manual transmission with a 3D-printed titanium shifter ball head that feels great in the hand. The car is also available with an optional 10AT transmission with sport-shift paddles.

An additional powertrain enhances the new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse's performance on the track. The enhanced components include brake cooling NACA ducts, auxiliary engine oil cooler, rear axle cooler, unique and lighter weight radiator, and more powerful cooling fans to enhance the vehicle's durability during aggressive driving.

The new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse offers unique chassis tuning, a larger rear swing bar, and heavy-duty front shock absorbers. The brakes feature Brembo front 6-piston brakes; steering response and grip are further enhanced with a new lightweight Performance strut tower and K-brace for better handling and feedback. The new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse also features a Torsen rear differential and Pirelli P ZERO (PZ4) tires and staggered-mounted wheels; and comes standard with MagneRide dampers, which monitor wheel and tire motion 1,000 times per second to optimize performance based on the driving surface or driving pattern. In addition, lighter carbon fiber wheels are available as an option to further reduce unsprung mass.

The overall shape of the new seventh-generation Mustang is more rigid and the visual effect is wider. The new grille is much larger and has the classic Mustang logo in the center, while the air intakes on both sides of the front bar of the GT model have also been increased in size to make it more impactful.

The rear of the new seventh-generation Mustang is still classic, with three vertical taillights that are highly recognizable. The GT model is also equipped with a large rear wing and Brembo calipers to strengthen its sporting performance. In addition, the new seventh generation Mustang continues to provide a hardtop and convertible body structure, the convertible version opened the top of the visual effect is very elegant and pleasant.

The interior of the new seventh generation Mustang has a more technological feel; the curved twin screens consisting of a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel and a 13.2-inch center screen are the biggest innovation. The new car's human-computer interaction system is upgraded to Sync4, which will provide a remote start, intelligent voice, and many other technological features.

In addition, to make the new seventh generation Mustang more suitable for drift driving, Ford also equipped the new car with a mechanical handbrake appearance of the electronic handbrake system, to ensure a passionate driving experience at the same time without losing the sense of technology.
