Ferrari has announced online the SF90 Spider, the convertible version of the SF90 Stradale, the first mass-produced plug-in hybrid convertible of the Ferrari Group, with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine and three electric motors, with a combined output of 1,000 hp.

The new convertible version inherits the main parameters and peak characteristics of the SF90 Stradale supercar, in addition to Ferrari's new foldable hardtop convertible design, resulting in pure and safe driving pleasure and a more powerful ecological performance. The convertible hardtop was first introduced in 2011 in the Berlinetta lineup with a rational mid-rear camera diesel engine layout. The new car represents a key growth in the core concept of the supercar.

The SF90 Spider is equipped with software for an externally rechargeable fuel-electric hybrid system. The new car consists of a V8 turbocharged diesel engine with 780 hp and three electric motors driving each other, one at the rear wheels and two at the front axle, with a combined power of 1000 hp. The system software chooses fine-handling logic, which can fully automatically detect and adjust the driving force distribution principle to integrate different driving scenarios. The driver simply selects one of the drive modes ("e Drive Electric", "Hybrid", "Performance" and "Platoon") according to the new Manetti control knob. The new Manetti is designed to be driven safely in one of the drive modes ("e Drive", "Hybrid", "Performance" and "Displacement"). Following the SF90 Stradale's strengths, the SF90 Spider is also equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system software, with a top speed of 2.5 seconds and 0-200 km acceleration in 7.0 seconds.

The technical engineers of the Maranello head office used sophisticated machinery and equipment to rationalize the layout and obtain an automatic control system that further enhances the dynamics of the new car. The software of this system allows us to instantly check the main performance of the car's dynamic characteristics, that is, the electronic side slips angle automatic control system (SSC). Based on the information collected, it can assign torque to the inner and outer wheels based on the motor installed in the front axle (torque vectoring material assignment system software) to manipulate the car's safe driving reliability, significantly increase the driving force required when the car is out of the corner, and produce a more simple and visualized feeling of handling, so that the driver can feel confident when driving safely at the limit.

The new car uses its own innovative hydrodynamic design scheme, which can cause 390 KG of working pressure at a speed of 250km/hr. In addition, the new car also uses several innovative patented solutions, including the best-known closed flaps and calcined wheels. The closed flaps, installed at the rear, are active hydrodynamic elements that can be adjusted according to safe driving standards. The wing model of the calcined wheel is reminiscent of the wind geometry of a Ferrari Formula 1 wheel.

The rear-end design also features a foldable hardtop convertible top and storage space for the interior, giving a glimpse of the V8 engine through the diesel engine hood.

On the interior level, the core concept of safe driving, which is derived from the runway, is "eyes on the ground, hands on the steering wheel", driving the trend of Ferrari models in ergonomic design solutions and car interior design styles. The new car is equipped with a new upgraded Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) technology page, including a new upgraded steering wheel with a touchscreen display, allowing the driver to control various functions without taking his hands off the steering wheel. The fully intelligent middle dashboard is equipped with a 16-inch beveled ultra-clear display, which can be set and manipulated according to the function keys on the steering wheel. The automatic transmission function keys on the center console area are of Gethin design, taking inspiration from Ferrari's classic manual paddle shifters.

The SF90 Spider is available with a foldable hardtop convertible. The convertible guarantees excellent sound insulation and maintenance when closed, no deformation even when the car is in motion, and excellent interior space and ride comfort.

The convertible hardtop can be opened or closed in just 14 seconds. The Ferrari convertible hardtop takes up only 100 liters of interior space when closed, compared to the 150 to 200 liters of interior space required for a conventional hardtop. Thanks to the aluminum frame, the convertible hardtop has lost about 40 kg of fat compared to a traditional hardtop.

In addition, the SF90 Spider is equipped with exclusive features for drivers seeking perfect speed. The car's net weight has been reduced by 21 KG thanks to the use of carbon fiber and titanium panels; it is also equipped with a carbon fiber rear wing and Michelin tires Pilot Sport Cup II to improve its performance on dry track surfaces. In addition, the Assetto Fiorano equipped version also presents an optional two-color body paint.

The Ferrari SF90 Spider comes with a seven-year original scheduled maintenance program for buyers. The seven-year original maintenance program is available for the entire Ferrari range and includes on-time basic maintenance for the first seven years of after-sales service. The program is an exclusive agency service issued by Ferrari to ensure that every Ferrari owner continues to maintain the maximum level of safety and features in their car. This special exclusive service is also available to pre-owned customers.
