The use of cameras for electronic ticketing will be more and more encouraged this year. Motorists from Honda Beat 2021 to Yamaha Nmax 2021 who are seen on the streets must increasingly comply with traffic regulations.

This was stated by Candidate for National Police Chief, Listianto Sigit Prabowo, who plans to further improve electronic ticket enforcement. Polda Metro Jaya is currently proposing an additional 50 e-TLE cameras to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Electronic tickets are located on certain roads.

Through this camera, motorcyclists who are proven violating will be tracked based on the vehicle number plate, and a ticket will be sent to the residence according to the motor vehicle owner's data.

Listianto Sigit said that the promotion of electronic tickets is also to reduce ticketing activities carried out by police officers in the field.

Quoted from the NTMC Polri page, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo explained that currently there are 53 e-TLE (electronic traffic law enforcement) cameras in Jakarta and it is in the second stage.

The e-TLE camera is more practical in taking action against traffic violators.

"In 2021 we will develop the third stage with 50 cameras, the proposal in the near future we will submit to the DKI Jakarta regional government," he said.

The cameras are not only deployed on toll roads to curb motorists who drive past the maximum speed limit, but also the Trans Jakarta route which is often breached by unruly motorists.

Target Offenders With e-TLE Cameras

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, 50 e-TLE cameras that have been installed remain active 24 hours during the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) period and also during the PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) as it is today.

Several targets for violations will refer to Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Such as a motorbike rider who does not use a helmet properly and correctly, as stated in Article 290 with a fine of IDR 250 thousand.

Bikers who cross the busway route will be fined Rp. 500 thousand.

Then caught using a gadget, this is regulated by Article 283 with a fine of IDR 750 thousand. For online motorcycle taxi drivers and car drivers, you should pull over first if you have to operate a device.

Violation of traffic signs and markings, as written in Article 287 paragraph 1, the offender is subject to a fine of IDR 500 thousand. Motorbike riders who often run red lights, get ready.

Users of counterfeit number plates will also be prosecuted via e-TLE, according to Article 280. Frauders or vehicles not fitted with a motorized vehicle number (TNKB) will be subject to a fine of Rp.

Powerful Electronic Tickets to Make Bikers Order

Since electronic ticket cameras were deployed and activated last year, there has been a decrease in the number of traffic violations on roads with electronic ticket cameras installed. The e-TLE system has proven to be effective in making bikers drive in an orderly manner.

The ticket by the police officer will be reduced.

"The data shows that at the point where the e-TLE camera is located, there is a decrease in violations captured by the camera. This means that at that point there is an increase in traffic discipline," continued Sambodo.

If the offender passes the deadline for paying the fine, the STNK data will be blocked and will be considered invalid. If the STNK is blocked, it will be difficult to renew annually. To lift the STNK block, you must pay an electronic ticket fine in advance.
