Bill Gates has praised Tesla, but he chose the Porsche Taycan as his first electric car.

The 2021 Porsche Taycan (pronounced tie-kahn) is a truly innovative electric vehicle, showcasing the high-performance potential

Since 2010, Porsche has introduced hybrid models in the Cayenne and Panamera lines. With the introduction of the first plug-in hybrid in 2013, Porsche became the first manufacturer in the premium sports car segment to offer a plug-in hybrid model.

The story of Porsche and electric cars goes back a long way. Back in 1900 at the Paris World's Fair, Ferdinand Porsche introduced the Lohner Porsche, an electric car with a range of about 50 kilometers.

The 918 Spyder series demonstrates what can be achieved by adding two synchronous electric motors to the front and rear axles of a supercar with an aspirated V8. The Taycan is an all-electric car that ticks all the boxes.

Instead of Porsche's classic frog-eye headlights, the front of the Taycan has a more squared-off shape. But we can still find the classic Porsche elements. the Taycan's length, width, height and wheelbase are 4963/1966/1381 mm and 2900 mm respectively.

Let's take a look at the interior of the Taycan.

Advances in technology have made everything easy, and the Taycan is Porsche's move from mechanization to electronics, as evidenced by the changes to the interior. The three-spoke steering wheel and the timer on the center console are very familiar Porsche elements, but the Taycan still reveals a bit of Porsche thinking in the details. Most functions are hidden in deep black until the screen is illuminated. Even the air conditioning vents are fully electric, with no blades and requiring a touch of the menu to control the direction of the air.

In terms of powerplant, the Taycan is divided into four models depending on output.

The Taycan 4S model has a power output of 530 hp; the Taycan Turbo model has an output of 680 hp; and the Taycan Turbo S model has an output of 762 hp, except for the 408 hp model, which has rear-mounted rear drive.

All Taycan models have a range of more than 400 kilometers, and the Taycan Turbo model has a maximum range of 450 kilometers. But those planning to buy the Taycan may not be concerned about its range, as outstanding performance is the essence of Porsche.

In addition, the PDCC Sport is equipped with an electro-mechanical anti-roll bar that reacts within 200 milliseconds to stiffen the anti-roll bar, effectively suppressing body roll caused by centrifugal forces and responding faster than a similar system using hydraulic actuators.

As a brand built on 100 years of experience, Porsche has long enjoyed a reputation for technical excellence and dedication.

At the end of the first quarter of 2021, Porsche Asia Pacific will have grown 28 percent over last year, with 827 vehicles delivered. Of these 827 vehicles, 47% are electric (EVs and hybrids).

The soul has many facets. It is ever-changing. When watching the Porsche Taycan, it presents itself with a smile that expresses total joy. On the wheels of the new Taycan Cross Tour, it holds its ground, even away from everyday life.

The Taycan is uncompromising. It has striking proportions, a timeless and immediately recognizable design. The spacious interior and two luggage compartments offer comfort and convenience for four.

With an enlarged rear luggage compartment and a more spacious interior, this vehicle completes your lifestyle.

The federal government and some state governments are offering special incentives for hybrid and battery electric vehicles. You can find out what financial incentives are available in your area by visiting the relevant websites.
