BMW Brilliance X3 28i model launched

The BMW Brilliance X3 has two new 28i models. The new models are still equipped with the 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 165 kW (224 hp), between the 25i model (184 hp) and the 30i model (252 hp).

New car features

During the Beijing Auto Show, BMW Brilliance X3 was officially launched with four models of 25i and 30i with two different powertrains. These four models were launched first to represent the lower and higher levels of the domestic BMW X3, with a price difference of up to 100,000 between them, so the launch of the mid-range 28i model became a popular expectation. The new model is consistent with the appearance of the domestic X3 on sale, with the front part still adopting the classic BMW family double kidney grille design. the M Sport package model has two large air intakes on both sides of the front bumper, further highlighting the sporting colors. The rear logo of the new car is replaced with xDrive 28i, indicating its power level. In terms of dimensions, the new car has a length, width, and height of 4717/1891/1689 mm and a wheelbase of 2864 mm, the overall parameters are not much different from the overseas version, but much higher than the previous generation model. In addition, its tire specifications have 245/50 R19, 245/45 R20, and 275/40 R20 several options.

The interior part, the domestic X3 retains the original design of the overseas version, and the new model on the market, except for some differences in configuration, is still familiar to us in other aspects. The new car will be equipped with a 10.25-inch multimedia display (supporting natural voice recognition, wireless Apple Car Play, intelligent driving assistant, etc.), power seat adjustment, automatic anti-glare interior rearview mirror, inductive power tailgate, three-temperature zone air conditioning, etc.

In terms of driving assistance systems, the domestic X3 is also very richly equipped, such as an active protection system, collision prevention system, fixed speed cruise control with automatic braking function, parking assistance system, rear camera, front and rear parking assistance radar, etc.

The new X3 will continue to be powered by the B48 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 224 hp (165 kW) and 8-speed manual transmission with 4WD.

Background of the new car

At the 2003 North American Auto Show, BMW unveiled a new activity concept car, which was designed as an SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) model with a unique convertible structure, and became the predecessor of the BMW X3. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of the same year, the production BMW X3 (E83) was officially launched, alongside the BMW X5, and together they started the journey of the BMW X series family.

The second generation of the BMW X3 (F25) was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The updated X3 grew in size compared to its predecessor and was almost on par with the first-generation BMW X5 (E53).

In June 2017, the third-generation BMW X3 (G01), designed by BMW's Australian designer Calvin Luk, was unveiled. The new car was fully equipped with B-series gasoline and diesel engines and was supported by various new technologies in the new BMW 5 Series (G30), and its body weight was significantly reduced by 121 pounds (55 kg). As the same model, the BMW Brilliance X3 is finally able to compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5L on the same starting line.
