A few days ago, Kawasaki snapped up two upcoming bikes from its lineup on its social media, including one suspected of being the 2021 NINJA300. The Japanese supermotorcycle maker confirmed that today by officially revealing the updated entry-level Ninja. On its Indian website. However, based on a few images released by Green Team, these updates look completely cosmetic in nature, and very subtle. This is expected, though. However, since Ninjas have been using the same design language for more than 300 years, the change will give the motorcycle a completely new design. Appearance Update The Appearance Update takes the form of a new paint scheme that includes shades of grayish green, black and white, and has red hints here and here. Its overall design remains intact and continues to feature large two-pod light sets, split seats, a powerful fuel tank, front steering wheel integrated into the fairing and chromium-plated heat shield on the muffler. The white hood and red highlights significantly enhance the sporty feel. Another major update to the spec is its engine sector, which is now the BS6 complaint. It will get its power from the same 296cc water-cooled four-stroke parallel two-cylinder engine and will be paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Under the BS4 name, the motor produces 38.4 BHP at 11,000 RPM and a peak torque of 27 Nm at 10,000 RPM. Although the exact specifications are still unclear, we expect the output numbers in the BS6 iteration to remain more or less similar. Other mechanical configurations are also expected to remain unchanged. This includes a tubular amantadine steel frame suspended from telescopic forks at the front and a single shock that can be adjusted for preloading at the back. The anchoring task is handled by a single disc brake on each wheel, while the safety net is given by the two-channel ABS. The BS6 Ninja Price and the Versys X300 BS6 updated Ninja 300 are expected to make their showrooms debut soon, and more details are expected to emerge in the near future. The latest retail price of the BS4-compliant Ninja 300 is Rs 2.98 crore (excluding tax).

We expect the premium for the updated streamlined sports bike to be around Rs 10,000-15,000. As mentioned earlier, the other bike in the works is suspected to be the Japanese bicycle manufacturer's entry-level adventure station wagon, the Versys X300. If launched in India, it will be comparable to other entry-level Adventure motorcycles such as the KTM 250 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G310 GS. With adventure travelers gaining momentum in India, it would be wise for Kawasaki to make money sensibly and reap some benefits.
