Among the places to visit that we suggest are an underwater museum and an extreme water slide park.

The city of Cancun is one of the most preferred tourist places by millions of travelers in the world and proof of this is that despite the fact that more than 50% of its activities are still closed due to the current contingency, it continues to be the world's favorite destination.

Therefore, and in collaboration with Cancun Suttle, we will tell you which are the 5 activities most requested, visited and known by thousands of travelers who year after year come to this tourist destination in Mexico.

Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA)

MUSA is an artificial museum and you can find it under the waters of the Caribbean Sea, a few meters away from Isla Mujeres.

MUSA is a gallery installed under the sea for which several artists created more than 500 sculptures. During the almost 12 years of existence of the museum, they have become an artificial reef. It is divided into three distinct sections:

Manchones, off the coast of Isla Mujeres. It has 473 sculptures, reaches up to 10 meters deep and can be explored by diving (you can do it even if you are not certified).

Punta Nizuc, at the southern end of Cancun's Hotel Zone. Its 33 sculptures can be seen on a snorkeling tour, as the depth is between two and four meters. There are also glass-bottom boat rides.

Punta Sam, north of Cancun, near Costa Mujeres. It is made up of nine sculptures. The depth is 3.5 meters and in this area it is common to see sea turtles.

Prices in 2021 range from 47 dollars (957 pesos) for the boat tour, 47 dollars for snorkeling and 115 dollars (two thousand 344 pesos) for diving without being certified.

Ventura Park

Ventura Park a few years ago was just a water park that "evolved" and became a world of adventure for children and adults.

This is a large amusement park with different themed areas and activities for the whole family. It is located south of the Hotel Zone, a five-minute drive from Nizuc.

For starters, it has a water park with extreme slides (one of them challenges you with a 15-meter drop) and a group ride, as well as a lazy river and wave pool. The adventure zone consists of zip line circuits, hanging bridges, the Tarzania attraction (a hybrid between roller coaster and zip line) and the bungee jump.

There is also a roller coaster fair, go-kart track and virtual reality attractions.

Various packages are offered, depending on the activities you wish to do. The most economical one costs 559 pesos per person (March 2021) and includes a buffet lunch and non-alcoholic beverages.

Xcaret

More than 80% of the visitors in the city seek to visit Xcaret with tour agencies and private transportation companies in Cancun.

The natural and archaeological park known as Xcaret, has become one of the most important landmarks of the city and undoubtedly the place that every traveler has to know.

This park has become popular for the experience it provides to each of its visitors, from the opportunity to swim in subway rivers, to the opportunity to learn about the Mayan culture, its history, its traditions and let's not forget the famous show that is performed every night: Mexico Magico.

Contoy Island

Contoy is a small paradise in the Mexican Caribbean, totally uninhabited by humans and to which only 200 visitors a day are admitted. Cancun is one of the points from which tours depart to visit it.

It is the most important bird sanctuary in the region (there are 210 recorded bird species) and has been considered a national park since 1998. Near the coasts manta rays and whale sharks feed.

A typical tour starts at nine in the morning and ends at five in the afternoon. Of course, it is possible to enjoy the island's beach or appreciate the flora and fauna through interpretive trails. There is also a 20-meter high lookout point to admire birds and palapa-dining areas. Some boats make stops in the middle of the sea to snorkel for a while.

Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres cannot be left out of our list, because despite being a small place 6 km off the coast of Cancun, it has become a tourist reference point, thanks to its more than 20 activities that it has prepared for us to see, do and contemplate.

By the way, did I mention that this is the first place in Mexico to receive the first rays of sunshine every day?

Without a doubt you have to know Cancun, you have to know Mexico!
