If you're itching to go on a road trip this summer to somewhere nice that you can relax outdoors in, we have the perfect guide for you. One of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors is with checking out one of the best wonders of the world, waterfalls! CarRentals’ 30 Waterfalls to Chase on Your Summer Road Trip has covered 30 amazing falls that are spread out across the United States. The guide includes information on what type of falls the waterfall is, how much hiking to get to the falls, if there is a cost to view the falls, and if you are able to swim there as well!

West Coast Waterfalls

There is no shortage of waterfalls on the West Coast of the United States, in fact, some of the largest waterfalls in the world are on the west coast. Yosemite Falls stands at 2,425 feet, a little over a half a mile tall! As summer is approaching, you probably will greatly appreciate heading towards a refreshing waterfall to revive you from the heat. Although there is sometimes unpredictable weather in the Spring and Fall on the West Coast, heading towards the waterfalls in August will be your best bet to have sunny, clear skies.

Southwest Region Waterfalls

The Southwest region has very hot summers and the desert surrounding will have you searching for a nice falls to head to. There are many different types of falls in the Southwest region, even a punchbowl type of falls like the Hamilton Pool Falls. You actually are able to swim under the falls in the Hamilton Pool Falls because of the arch that the falls runs over. After heading to the falls, don’t forget to grab some BBQ, the South has some of the best BBQ restaurants to head to after a long day outside.

Northeast Region Waterfalls

Waterfalls in the Northeast region are all very close together since this is the smallest region in the US, making it an easy road trip to visit all these falls! We recommend visiting all the waterfalls in the Northeast region during the summer to avoid any rain. When it rains in the Northeast region, the rain will pour very hard, making it impossible to go hiking. When chasing waterfalls in this region, make sure to check out all the historical landscapes that make this region notable!

Midwest Region Waterfalls

The Midwest region has plenty of gorgeous falls and we recommend heading there in summer as well because it will be nice and warm. Still check your weather app when you are planning a road trip out here, the Midwest is known for having a swing in temperatures at times. One of the falls in the Midwest, Tunnel Falls, in Indiana has a tunnel located nearby that you can walk through that’s 600 feet long! If you are to check out these falls in the winter, you will notice that most of them will be frozen over, creating the falls to look frozen in time.

Southeast Region Waterfalls

Don’t let the humidity of the Southeast region waterfalls stop you from coming, because many of these falls will put in a good workout for you by hiking up to the falls. Completing the entire hike to see the falls is priceless, something you do not want to miss out on. Especially going to see the Devil’s Bathtub Falls that has a swimming hole that’s open 24/7. The summers also tend to be much longer than the winters here, giving you more room to plan your trip to the Southeast region waterfalls.
