Welcome to composing and creating!

Waking Up Writing> I have no chance in hell of winning

  • . . .starting to write about what you dreamt about as you rewire your body, mind, and spirit. . . .

  • . . .Try to write in your dream journal. Writing is not easy,   so I understand all that you are doing when trying to write. This was written one day when my cancer returned: FALL Block 1 > 8 WKS > Aug 22- Oct 11, 2022 for my composition class at a university. Indeed, I was also the assistant chair and would last another semester into the spring of 2023.

Reparations: A Revision of Compassion

  • . . .Waking Up. . . remembering that my mother was born in North Korea. . . .

Shower Hour of Power Writing

  • . . . As I shower, I continue to write in my mind, thought mapping. . . .When coming to America, my English was terrible. Indeed, I struggled in school because my mother only spoke Korean to me. English remains my second language. I learned to write in English by keeping a journal. I think in Korean. . . .

  • . . .The Breakfast of Culture. . . . As I drink coffee and a light breakfast, I am thankful. . . and recall that last week I attended an information event at the library:  "Iranian Liberation." Places like Iran, Cuba, and North Korea are full of wonderful people who are slaves to their governments.  . . .

  • . . .The speaker was my former student who took this class on composition; indeed, we wrote a book together about writing. I think Iranians are amazing, even though their government is not. . . .

Morning Walking and Writing. . . .

  • . . .I always have a short walk in the morning to plan the day. As I walk, I do mindful slow breathing and map out my day. I am walking, talking inside my mind's eye and writing a vision of what I will do. I am planning.. . .

  • . . .Remembering and Mind Talking. . . . People who lived in oppressive countries often become amazing and compassionate people when they move to other places. The reality of oppression, my mother shared with me to make me appreciate America more. She escaped from hell.  Sadly, many  people are not so lucky.  She loved everyone and always gave people a hug because she remembers the suffering she lived through. I so miss her.

Driving and Mind Writing.

  • . . .As I drive to work, I envision teaching and listening to my students, for they must learn to articulate their visions of seeing and being alive. . . Listening is hard . . . it is an art form. . and important part of writing. Listen to your soul and write with your soul. . .

Gratitude is the Attitude

  • . . .Walking into the class, I want the students to focuse on some the realities that people still face here in America because I recall growing up in Los Angeles, so I tried to share the struggles Asian face there even today with my students in the Midwest. Indeed, my mother was always positive in Los Angeles. I want to thank her for her efforts. I ask my students to be thankful too. . . .

Journal Writing. . .

  • . . .They start the class by writing in their journals. I give suggested quotes, but they can alway choose their topics. I pick up their journal once and month to read and return. . . .

Lymphoma Cancer Relapse

  • . . .Afternoon Blues and Writing. . . . finally, my cancer has returned. I am in a lot of pain right now, even years later. I write in my journal during lunch and explore that I am very dizzy. I chose to finish this class because I didn't want another instructor to confuse all the students. . .

Afterschool Drive and Mind Writing. . .

  • . . .I do special breathing exercises as I drive to relax and not feel the dizziness. I breathe in happiness and awareness, deeply. I breathe out pain and dizziness, quick and abrupt. . . and repeat, the breaths inward are longer peaceful breathes.

Evening Journal Writing. . .

  • . . . I know my treatment will start soon, but I have had to wait over a month for the insurance to approve it. My pain increased. . writing helps me overcome the tragedy of our insurance companies who steal money and wish patients to die, because a dead patient is cheaper than one that lives. . . and requires more treatements.

Final Night Note Talking. . .

  • . . .I am helping others around the world with their cancer. I talk to many on What's App as they contact me because I tell them to be positive, to change their eating habits, and to meditate. . . .

Lucid Dream Writing . .

  • . As I sleep, I am awake and enter and control my dreams, I am writing in a journal of healing, hoping and harmony. Amen. . . .

24 Hours of Writing

  • . . .write more to be more alive and focused. Reading is a form or writing, for as we read, our mind is rewriting what we see into messages of understanding. . .
