What to Expect from Turkey

Turkey Marmaris City

It all started in the spring. First lads holiday, looking for somewhere cheap and new to visit. After checking on holiday sites such as LastMinute, Teletext, and TUI, we found the perfect priced holiday! OnTheBeach was offering this holiday for a week, all inclusive, for only £275 per person. You couldn't go wrong! So all booked, all seats paid for, and we were off! The 4 hour 30 minute flight seemed to fly past with EasyJet making everything seem smooth and relaxing.

Jesus Bay, Turkey

We arrived during early hours at our hotel, Kervansaray Marmaris, and for a 4 star hotel, you couldn't ask for better quality. The staff were lovely, spoke little English, but always had a manager on hand who did. As soon as you walked through the door to your room, you could smell the cleanness and sweet smell of freshener. The beds were as comfortable and your head sunk into the pillows to cuddle you. The bathroom was gleaming, and the shower didn't take too long to blast out hot water. Now the toilet, that's a different story. I ADVISE anyone, do not turn the little toggle next to the toilet because you may get a fright.

Boat Trip

The excursions are amazing, and full of drinks and beautiful views. The boat trip is a full day, filled with five islands and stopping three times to have a dip in the clearest ocean ever! You could jump from the top, or even slide down the slide if you don't want to jump. Drinks and ice cream are served on boards, along with a complimentary chicken and salad, but be warned, the salad is covered in strong vinegar. I would advise to go down by the docks and buy your excursion tickets, as the prices can be haggled and are a lot cheaper than from the rep at the hotel.

Ledbury Steakhouse, Marmaris

I would 100 percent recommend Ledbury Steakhouse, Marmaris as a go to place for food. It serves all kind of cultural food and for amazing prices. Our group of four received starters, mains and two drinks each for just under £60. You cannot beat that price, and for the quality of food, you're winning. I would recommend trying the steak (photo above) as it is cooked to perfection, and if you're feeling a Sunday dinner—well they serve that to. If you ever go, ask for Ronaldo and he will definitely look after you.

Overall, Turkey is an amazing and beautiful country, and I would definitely recommend people to go. If you know the right places you will have a good time. This, as a holiday, has been one of the best! My rating is an 8/10 overall.
