HandMade Jewellery & My Life as an Artisté 👨🏻‍🎨

My journey as an artist took me across the globe... 🌎 I learned about music 🎵, art 🖼, and craft ❤️. My love for jewelry started in the street markets of Thailand, 🇹🇭 way back in 1997, when I was 18 or 19 years old, traveling in my first sixth-month journey 🎒, that was to turn into an epic, fifteen-year trip, across 46 countries, and six continents! 🗺I would buy small pieces of jewelry I saw, with bright colours and with interesting beads and styles; by 21, I was traveling around, making my own simple bracelets 😎. Years later, I studied craft, first becoming a stone carver and later, now, a jeweler. During this time, I was also studying music 🎵 🎸 🎷 🎹, playing for 4⃣to 6️⃣hours a day, and making jewelry 💍 could be a welcome relief from the intense practice! I learned to make necklaces and rings with diamonds 💎, and sapphires, emeralds, and rubies. As one year became two, which became three years of studying, friends started asking for pieces to be made for them, and offering to support my business 😊. This is a piece I made last week for my new trademarked jewelry brand 😊, RED LUX™️ ♦️❤️. I love designing, making beautiful pieces, and my love of fashion has been nurtured for many years by Vogue Magazine, and various designers have given me inspiration. I was born in Northampton, otherwise known as the Shoe Town 👞, and one of the first things I ever designed was a shoe that won first prize across our country. Northampton is the centre of shoe production in Great Britain 🇬🇧 , and cobblers have been making shoes 🥿🥿here for centuries. We are Northamptonians. We call ourselves the 🥾🥾 “Shoe People,” LOL 😂 , and that was some of the first fashion design I was inspired by. Artists like 👠👠 Manolo Blahnik gave me inspiration there, and in fashion design, Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg, as well as Anna Wintour, who made me realize I could be successful with my designs as well. Reading about Alexander McQueen’s life showed me I could also find success being an artisan, and what it would take to succeed—work. Lots of Work!!!! ⏰ And, with diligence could come success... 😎From Christian Dior to Coco Chanel, I would read and read and read! And I would pick up beautiful ideas and stylistic notions from Georgio Armani, Vivianne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, and Kate Moss. 👕👚👔👙👘 I would paint 🎨 and draw ✏️ for hours, exploring colours and shapes quite in my own world 🌍, improvising music 🎶 🎼 on different instruments, and on LogicX that I studied for two years with Apple 🍎 in Regent Street in London. I would go to bars and clubs all over London, meeting people. I spent years playing guitar in the park 🌳 🌲 to rather beautiful eloquent women eating their lunches—It was only years later I found out I was very close to the Vogue House🏡👗🧣! The colourful characters of London filled my world 🌏 after returning from all my travels! I craved culture, and hearing words in other tongues. I loved to try to speak a few words of other languages... often to compose poetry in French 🇫🇷 say, or maybe Spanish... 🇪🇸 . I loved to go out and dance 💃 🕺 for six or seven hours with other groovers at clubs in bars, in the capital... I knew few people back home in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 after so many years away... I would go alone and dance all night, and I met such great people, and felt good vibes! ➕ 👍🏻 www.redlux.red is now online (Version 1.0 LOL!), and I’m bringing my designs to the world—giving back the shapes and colours 🔴🔻🔶🔸♥️💚💛💜💙💖 of the Orient, where I lived for six years in total, and of Africa, the Antipodes, and the Americas 💎. It’s good to be home, amongst the 66,000,000 people of my home nation, but I will always feel like a world citizen, and will intermingle with other cultures 🌎. World music 🙏🏻 🎵 gave so much to my style of chanting and wild improv music 🗣that I explored at Stonehenge, playing ancient rhythms with the Red Henge band (www.redhenge.red ⭕️), drawing on the style of music I learned from the remote tribe I lived with in the rainforest, off and on for 11 years in uncharted territory by a huge river, in the 4,000 islands in Laos 🇱🇦. My other great influence of colour and shape came from the 🐠 fish in Thailand 🇹🇭, primarily where I lived on a small island 🌴 for three years, and learned scuba diving 🥽 🐟. Fish and coral come in such an array of shapes and sizes, they are inspirational to any artist—My favorite was seeing octopi 🐙 that could change colour like chameleons, matching the coral or rock below them 💦! I learned to love the water and ⛵️being on boats 🚣🏽‍♀️. I fell in love with the earth 🌎 and everyone on it while I traveled. Everyone I met had interesting stories and information ℹ️. By being polite, respectful, and listening, I learnt so much‼️‼️ Thank you to the thousands of people along the way—to my teachers in many things, and the friends I met that shared, or continue to share, a beer 🍻or a laugh 😂 or their heart ♥️. Felt wishes. And thanks to the earth 🌍. I love you 😘 and the beautiful sun ☀️ that nourishes my soul! And to everyone out there, remember: we love you ❤️. Please come find me on Instagram, @LuckyRedStarzMusic. x 🔴Red 🔴x. You might find me playing 🎸 or singing 🎤 on the street somewhere soon, or on the road 🎵. Please support my business, if you could afford a ring 💍 or a necklace—It will get me back, coming out to entertain and celebrate with you all 🎉! Hope you like this ring I made! For now, think of me tapping away, making jewelry and working on my album. I have called it Quite Good. People say that about my guitar and music: “He’s quite good!” I always wished I could be pretty good or really good, but I only ever get quite good—I suppose maybe, they used to say I was rubbish! Haha! Now, I have learnt to embrace my “quite good,” and see it as an important step on the stairway to heaven, to “really super amazingly awesome” 😎, the musical dream for all us guitar players 🎸 😂 😂! I hope this is "Vocal" enough for a first foray into a brave new soma world!! I do love SO(cial) M(edi)A, but I get addicted to writing and talking as you could see 😂! My best friends say, “Oh, you didn’t let him start talking did you!?! Quick, give him a guitar 🎸, and he will shut up!” And on that note 🎵, goodnight 😴 🌝 💤 ❤️, love and light ☀️, and good luck 🍀 .
