Airport is a term used to describe a place where people can fly from one location to another. Airports are usually located near large cities, but some smaller airports may also exist. There are many different types of airports, depending on their size, purpose, and how they operate. Some common examples include commercial airports, military air bases, and general aviation airports.

There are some airports, they are between the world's largest airports with the area they cover. The list below describes exactly these features.

1. King Fahd International Airport

King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) is located at Dammam, Saudi Arabia. KFIA is the largest airport in the Middle East region. It was built in 1974 and has been expanded several times since then. It covers an area of about 1,000 hectares and can handle over 2 million passengers per year.

2. Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport (DIA) is located at 3900 S Gaylord St, Denver, Colorado 80249-4120. DIA covers approximately 1,400 acres. DIA has two runways that are 7,200 feet long each. There are over 100 gates at DIA. DIA's terminal buildings cover about 2 million square feet. DIA has been voted the best airport in North America by Skytrax.

3. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the largest airport in Texas and the second-largest in the United States. DFW is located in the city of Fort Worth, Texas, about 20 miles (32 km) from downtown Dallas. With over 1,300 daily flights, DFW is the primary international gateway to North America.

Dallas Love Field (DAL) is a major general aviation airport located five miles (8 km) southwest of Downtown Dallas, Texas, USA. It has been called "America's Most Beautiful Airport."

Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFWI) is a large hub for American Airlines, serving as its headquarters. It is the world's fifth busiest airport based on passenger traffic.

4. Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located at 5200 Universal Blvd., Orlando, FL 32801-4100. MCO is the largest airport in Florida and serves as the primary hub for American Airlines. There are currently 1,976 flights departing from MCO daily. MCO has been ranked 5 among the top 10 airports in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. MCO was named the best airport in North America by Skytrax in 2013. In 2014, MCO received the prestigious award of being named the Best Airports in the World by Skytrax.

5. Washington Dulles International Airport

Washington Dulles International Airport (IATA: IAD) is located at the border between Arlington County and Fairfax County in Virginia, United States. It is named after John H. Russell, Jr., who was appointed director of the Civil Aeronautics Administration in 1953. He had previously served as the first chairman of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics from 1946 to 1949.

The airport has been ranked among the top ten airports in North America by Skytrax since 2013. In 2017, it was ranked third overall.

The airport is operated by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which is responsible for operating Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.

6. Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) is located in Shanghai, China. It was opened in 1998 and has two terminals. Terminal 1 is connected to the city's metro system and is accessible via the metro line No. 2. Terminal 2 is not yet connected to the metro system but can be reached from the airport bus stop.

The airport covers an area of about 5 square kilometers. Its total floor space is around 4 million square meters. There are over 100 shops inside the terminal building.

The airport is operated by the Shanghai Aviation Industrial Corporation. In addition, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government holds a 50% stake in the company.

7. Cairo International Airport

Cairo International Airport is located at Heliopolis, about 15 km south-east of downtown Cairo, Egypt. It is the largest airport in Africa and the Middle East, and the second busiest airport in Africa after Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport.

Cairo International Airport was built in 1936 and has been expanded several times since then. In 2011, the airport handled over 50 million passengers, making it the world's fifth busiest airport that year. The airport covers an area of 1,200 hectares and has two terminals. Terminal 2 opened in 2012, while terminal 1 is scheduled to close in 2019.

Cairo International Airport is owned by the Egyptian government, but is operated by the state-owned company Aeroports de Paris.
