Amsterdam is known for it's hard core partying, however, there are many thing to see while you are there. But, first somethings you should know: 1) if you are looking for coffee you will not find it in a coffee shop, but you will find it in a Koffee shop. It's the coffee with the capital K that you are looking for the ones that are spelled with a C sell recreational drugs such as marijuana. 2) Bike everywhere you need to go. Amsterdam has a huge biking culture, the bike rentals are found anywhere and always lock up! apparently some people like to get drunk and throw bikes in the rivers, so be careful! 3) If you do plan on partying make sure it is close to a hotel or hostel so you can be safe and not sorry.

Now, let's move on to the things you can do in Amsterdam (other than party).

1. Take one of the free tours! you can learn lots on these tours and visit interesting places you never would have though about visiting! The tour guides often give you helpful tips about where to buy ticket or what other sites you should visit. Free tours are always a good idea!

2. Anne Frank Museum. The Anne Frank Museum is a good way to get a grasp on the history of how the lives of Jewish people were lived during the reign of Nazi Germany. The museum has some monuments from the house she lived in. It's very factual and interesting.

3. If you are of age, the Heineken Museum is cool. You can take silly pictures with your friends and you can learn about beer and how it's made. Also, they will ask some trivia questions regarding the beer and if you know your facts you might get a free pint. You can also get a certificate saying that you can draft the perfect Heineken.

4. Check out the outdoor markets! The outdoor markets are big in Europe especially in Amsterdam you can buy authentic jewelry or try some extraordinary cheeses. You can walk around and just get a feel for the city by visiting these markets and if you are looking to buy clogs this is usually the better alternative than a tourist shop!

5. Take a bus to the wind mills. The dutch are known for the wind mills and it is definitely worth checking out! You learn lots too, and you can go inside and see how it works! Also, the gift shops will probably sell cheese!

6. Walk around the canals and see what it's like to be living in one of the coolest cities in Europe.

7. The Van Gogh Museum. The line-ups might be a little long, but once you get in you are exposed to Van Gogh's life and his art. If you want to be more cultured this is the place to visit.

8. The Tropenmuseum. This is the one you want to visit if you are into architecture and like learning new things! There are many rooms and you can learn a little bit of everything.

9. The National Maritime Museum is for you if you like the fish and the ships! It has a lot of things to look out and check out! It is a top thing to see if you have kids!

10. Get the Amsterdam City Card it can get you into the museums listed above and it is worth getting if you are there for a week or more. It also gives you free transport around the city. You can also take some cruises along the canals!

11. If you like shiny sparkling things, then the Diamond Museum is where to go!

12. There are many wonderful parks around Amsterdam and they are all blooming in green and flowers during the spring time. Have a picnic! Make a day out of it.

13. Go during the Festival of Tulips! Holland is known for its tulips when they are in bloom. The flower strip is the place to visit, you will be excited by the amount of tulips you see. It is an amazing thing to experience! The best place is the Keukenhof Gardens and it is absolutely magical!

14. One of the things I did not get see was the city of Haarlem. This is a good place to gather up your gifts for your pals or your family. The Frans Hals Museum (if you are into the renaissance paintings) is a big hit as well as walking along the River Spaarne.
