It was a day like everyday. Amy was gearing up for the cold weather. February can be harsh and cold in Canadian Rockies. Even though she did not really feel like going outside, Amy knew it was a necessity. It was not for her. It was for them she was going. For their sanity. As she started getting too warm in her winter coat she was getting them ready as well. Amy started by putting his boots on and then his jacket. She did not have to do much for the other one. He was built for freezing cold temperatures.

Amy opened the door. She could feel the cold wind on her cheeks. The thermometer indicated -17 degrees Celsius but with the windshield it had to be at least -25. They walked along the road, she kept telling them to be patient. They were going to get there soon.

Then Amy had an idea. She was tired of always roaming the same areas so she decided to make a change. Today was a public holiday so why not head towards the quarry. There would be no bombing on that day. And so they went. As they were walking they were very impressed to look around and see those big heavy machines parked all around. Since no one was to be seen Amy released them so they could go and enjoy the new to them areas.

After about ten minutes of wandering and enjoying the bits of sunshine she realized she lost them. Her stomach turned. It was not the first time she was distracted and lost sight of them. For some reason, every time felt like the first time. As she follows their tracks in the fresh snow, she started to have a weird feeling inside.

It's only when she heard them that she realized something had happened. She kept following the noises they were making and finally found them. They fell in a large hole probably created by all the explosions happening in the areas. She should have known better. The ground is unstable in these type of places.

She would do anything for those two. That's why she ran back home as fast as she could to grab her climbing rope and the gear needed to rappel down and get them out of there. She knew she had to hurry because he's jacket would not keep him warm enough if he was not moving.

Amy finally got back to the hole in the quarry, set up the gear and makes it down to them. As they celebrate being reunited, Amy noticed a red metal box . There was no time to be wasted, so she put the box in her backpack and rescued her companions.

Back home, she made sure they are okay and not injured. The most fragile of the two had a cut under his eye but that was it. Amy was reassured. This is only at dinner time that Amy remembered about the red box. When she opened it, she did not think much of it. There was a book. It was black. And there was a shiny rock. Looking a little bit like an amber stone.

She then opened the book. She could not read the lettering. She did not know that language. It was almost like drawing more then writing. On the last page though there was some kind of a logo. She remembered seeing something a very similar red and black picture on a building driving through Morley reservation.

Amy knew a few member of the Morley community since she was teaching in a school near by. She remembered one of her student mentioning her grand mother's ability to tell stories from the past. After she made a few calls, Amy reached out and the Snow family agreed to meet. As soon as grand mother Snow laid eyes on the black book Amy could tell the importance of it. Mrs Snow started to tell her about the legend of the Stone that is going to save the Stoney tribe. She said one day, a woman with a pure heart is going to bring fortune, happiness and a piece of their forgotten history back to the tribe. They did not ask about the amber stone. Amy did not mention it either. They kept talking about the black book. The snow family asked to keep it. They would have to show it to the elders. Only them could understand the pictures from the mysterious black book.

Amy went back home with many answers but also many more questions. She tried to look online for a another stone like the one she found in that hole.

The next morning, she decided to drive to the City to get that stone evaluated. After talking with the men at the shop, Amy began to understand the rarity and the value of the stone. Could she make money out of it? She though that selling it would solve a lot of her financial issues. That year was not an easy year.

That night, when Amy fell asleep, she had nightmares. Ancient native tribes attacking her home, repeating to her those words. ''It does not belong to you''.

When she opened her eyes in the morning she knew what she had to do. She jumped in her car taking the stone and her 2 companions with her. She knocked at the Snow's house family and did not wait to enter. She was holding the stone up in front of her. Mrs Snow almost lost balance at the sight of it. She started to cry, thinking her tribe is now saved! All she asked to Amy is to sell it. Sell it and bring the money back.

That's what Amy did. She looked up on Google all the Website to sell stones and put it on each of them. She had many offers. Some very low, some surprisingly high. But when her phone rang, she could not believe the offer the man on the other side of it made her. She obviously accepted that one. It is not nearly enough to repair all the damage caused by white people to this native community or any native community around the country. Money can not give back lives destroyed. Hopefully it will give future to the ones that are still here.

Amy brought the money back to them. It was to much to be brought cash obviously. Mrs Snow had to sit down when she saw the numbers. It was enough to helps out so many native communities all around the country. It was not Amy's business to decide or know how this money would be spent so she left with a feeling of having done something good.

One month later, Amy was gearing up again to go for her daily walk with her two companions and she heard her phone. She had a notification. Mrs Snow and her community wanted to thank me for bringing fortune to them by mostly returning the black book. They learned so much about their history that was lost. So much that Amy could not understand as a white person. And then she got a notification. They had transferred her 20 000$ to thank her. Amy went to walk her dogs with a light heart and a heavier bank account.
