Welcome To Las Vegas Sign

Las Vegas is one of those cities that is so popular and visited so frequently that its taken for granted. The buildings and lights are shown in movies or talked about in songs. Its always represented by gambling, shows, and loosely clad women, but our city is so much more than that. While those things do exist in the city that never sleeps there's also a lot more hidden in between.

Vegas is the only city in the world where you visit representations of other popular cities and landmarks all in one go. You can be at the Eiffel tower of Paris and then walk across the street and stare into the beautiful representation of Lake Cuomo at the Bellagio.

Further, you can stare at both the pyramids of Egypt while also turning slightly to see the glorious Statue of Liberty at New York, New York. Over 30 casino's representing and highlighting places in the world that I would probably never see in my lifetime.

As a born and raised resident of Las Vegas, I know that a lot of other residents will be quick to say that they avoid the Las Vegas Strip like the plague. Its traffic, both on foot and in a vehicle, noise, and overall a bunch of sensory overload.

Imagine being dead asleep and as soon as you open your eyes you're bombarded with flashing neon lights and various noises of people talking, cars driving, lights flashing, and machines chiming. Well, that's usually the experience people say they have when they step into Vegas for the first time.

I, on the other hand, have to say that its different every time I step on the street. You never see the same people or experience the same things. It's an ever changing world where people from all over meet right smack dab in the middle and have a good time.

As an adult, Las Vegas is my forever changing inspiration when it comes to my writing and as a child it was my Disney Land. If I'm ever having writers block I can go and sit in the Luxor and call on my inner Pharaoh or walk Freemont Street to experience the different creators and unique types people.

Now with kids on my own I can take them to Freemont and they can see their favorite characters such as Legos, Minions, Spiderman, Ironman, and everything else their hearts desire.

Another reason Vegas will always be great in my eyes is their sports selection. While for many years we remained stagnant in bringing in stadiums and professional teams, over the last few years Las Vegas has branched out coming in with a Hockey (Golden Knights), Boxing, Football (Raiders), Women's Basketball (Aces), Baseball ( Vegas 51's). Now, no matter what you are into Vegas offers something for everyone.

You can go to college at UNLV or at the College of Southern Nevada. You can train to play any of the above mentioned sports, graduate at one of the colleges and/or pursue mostly any dream right here in the city!

There are no limits to what you can do in Vegas. There's a role, a place, a position for anyone and everyone.

I always tell my family that I wish that I could see this city through a new lens. I wish that for one day I can experience taking everything in for the very first time. Then I go outside and look out at the view and remember that nothing is the same as yesterday. The people who were passing through last week have left opening up room for different people this week.

I get to experience, talk with, and explore with different people from all over the world all the time. Listen to their stories of home and their experiences in there cultures and countries.

I've been to plenty of different places in the world but for some reason nothing hits me quite like home does. Our melting pot of diversity and openness to creativity is unlike anywhere else I've ever experienced.
