Colonial Williamsburg
When you think of the Revolutionary War and the colonies fight for freedom, what cities come to your mind? Most people go straight to Philadelphia, Boston, and even New York City. However, hidden on the eastern coast of Virginia, right by the very spot where the colonies began their foundation in Jamestown lies the little town of Williamsburg, Virginia. Named after King William III of England when the state capital was moved from Jamestown in 1699, today Williamsburg is a bustling city with theme parks and history all around. No words can describe the magic you feel while there, I'd compare it to that childish excitement you get when going to Disney World for the first time. However, few people seem to realize what a crucial role that this small-ish city seemed to play in the founding of our nation.

Ever since I was a child in the 1950's, standing on the wharf of Melbourne pier to board the immense ship that was to take us to Europe, I have never recovered from the excitement of embarkation.

Late last year I took a little trip to South America. Why South America, you might ask. Well, quite simply, because someone said to me "what about South America?" And so it was decided.

For many, freedom is the ultimate goal in life. The highest aim. The freedom to explore, to make our own choices, to push the boundaries. To be, who we know in our heart of hearts, we can be, if only the world would let us.

Santa Marta is an undiscovered gem of a city located on the northeastern tip of Atlantic coast of Colombia. I say that it’s an ‘undiscovered gem’ because it usually flies under the radar when compared to its coastal counterparts of Cartagena and Barranquilla. Still though, for Colombians and foreigners alike on vacation, Santa Marta has a lot to offer its visitors. I was drawn to Santa Marta a couple of months ago when I visited its neighboring town of Minca, which is also quite beautiful and full of lush scenery up in the mountains. Unfortunately, I did not get to spend much time in Santa Marta so I decided that during my 2nd time living in Colombia, I could not pass up the chance to visit this city if I had the chance.
For the Love of Tagine
Welcome to the blue city. There is a four-year-old child clinging to his cat on the steps of his home. The blue tunnels feel like underwater caves and you almost expect sharks and dolphins to weave between the crowds. There is an old lady selling bread- hard, floury, fresh Moroccan khobz, and a flock of animals and their child counterparts run up and try to steal crumby mouthfuls. The smell of leather, incense and cinnamon loom from musty underground doorways. Handmade jewellery and hair oils line doorways and wooden shops and the pavement is cool and dusty. Doesn’t this sound glorious? This is Chefchaouen, in the far dreamy north of Morocco.

This story begins on a California highway in a rented camper. Six college friends near the end of their summer vacation are on a road trip before the next semester begins. They have been stopping along the way to meet new people, party, and experience the “sowing of oats” that most of us have done at least once in our lives. The title is “Road Trip Breadcrumbs,” referring to the fairy tale of “Hansel & Gretel.”
My Favorite (and Not Too Touristy) Spots in Paris*
Did you know French (mostly Parisian) people call Paris Paname, when they are talking about it as an exotic place? Well, Paris is an exotic place, especially if you've never been there, you probably romanticize it (or not). And in reality it has so much history and hidden gems that it is a treasury that has no end; it keeps going on and on. And if you are going to Paris, thinking about going to Paris or dreaming about going to Paris someday, I would love you to see it the way I do, because Paris is more than only the Eiffel Tower and The Arc de Triomphe (although these are nice places too).

This past weekend, I was able to visit Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the site of the most notable battle of the American Civil War, and one of the biggest battles in American military history. The battle of Gettysburg is also notable for being the main turning point of the Civil War. The outcome of the battle concluded with the Army of Northern Virginia, led by General Robert E. Lee, being prevented from invading further into the Northeast. Lee and his army were forced to retreat back into Virginia after the battles’ end and never again stepped foot in Union-controlled territory.
What Can I Bring in My Carry-On?
Your carry-on is one of the most important and strategic parts of planning if you'll be sitting on a long flight. Packing your carry-on bag may be something you leave to the last-minute while traveling. While it may be tempting to focus only on your luggage, you should be sure to take the time to strategically plan what you'll be bringing along on your flight. Having the perfectly-packed carry-on luggage ensures you have all the essentials and entertainment you need to enjoy your travel, instead of just enduring it.

What I haven't traveled anywhere in 18 months. Wrapped up in work, bills, necessities and day to day shenanigans, life potentially eliminated a wise all vacation trip. Intelligence is expanded when there are global interactions, conversations had, various foods and settings are altered. Seeing the world in its many forms is a necessity for me before I leave this world. It's been a very long time that I have traveled anywhere. To add to it, I've never left the country. The time has truly come that I put away with my own personal travel ban. Before we are all stranded and not allowed to leave and respective homelands, there's a imperative need to put the wheels on the travel van. It's time that I get out and venture into different corners of the world. Visiting different parts of this great country that I haven't seen is always exciting. Still have never been to California nor New York. D.C was a joy last time I was there but that was during the teen years. Last all out vacation was Myrtle Beach back in 2015, first time visit. Being it was late in the year, the town was quite empty, beach was still little warm overall very fun time.
