Changing one's life is challenging. If done correctly, with confidence & purpose, the payoff is greater than you could ever imagine!

Your "comfort zone". . these words sound warm and cozy, don't they? They paint a picture of a perfect place for you and your family to be. If you're there now, finding this zone most likely was a result of hard work and unrelenting effort. And if it is working for you and for those you love, then there is absolutely no reason to mix it up at this point in time. It is a place where we all would want to be. It is soothing to the touch. It doesn't rub against the grain. There are no harsh words in this zone, nor are there any doubts. . no negatives or regrets. Peace and harmony play emphatically in the background. . you get the message. . "Don't you dare mess with my comfort zone".

Let's interject a situation that may, and DOES, arise among many individuals and families. A time may arrive in your life and in your mind when you become so snug and secure, so safe and relaxed, that something inside of you feels guilty. Perhaps this 'final destination' turns out only to be a resting place. Earlier in life, you knew that you wanted all that you have now, but for some reason, your horizons have expanded. And now, you NEED to kick it up a notch. The passion for 'something else' is strong. It gets to the point where it is not manageable anymore. A change needs to be made and you now know that your time here in your "zone of comfort" is nearing its range of existence. Is it time to, "step out"?

Initially, what a cold and heartless feeling that is. Everything that you know and have grown to love is in jeopardy. "Why am I feeling this way?", you ask yourself. There is no easy answer. . it is what it is.

Maybe a few years ago, you visited Costa Rica. You returned four or five times and every time, you grew closer to its magic. You made a few good friends. You found some special places to go to enjoy your morning coffee. You found a soda that prepared the best "gallo pinto". No matter how hard you tried, when returning home, you could never get it to taste the way that THEY made it!

You now realize that Mother Nature presented something strong in front of you. Something so beautiful and life-changing. Your time spent hiking on the top of the Irazu volcano. You went early in the morning before the clouds rolled in and witnessed seeing BOTH coasts at once. . the views from the coffee plantation tour you took. . enjoying that cup of fresh, hot coffee after your tour, prepared with the same strain of beans that you saw growing in the fields just a few minutes before. The toucans and scarlet macaws, and their vibrant colors, the beauty of their flight. . all of this burnt into many fond memories. You want more of all of this! You need it. There is no more comfort zone. It's feels thorny in there now. . ragged edges & some rough spots.

This is normal for everyone in life. You have no doubt heard the phrase, "Nothing stays the same except change". We can call this "growth" or simply a standard process of life itself. Many of us come from those who left their countries with $20 in their pocket and the clothes on their back to search for a better life, a more meaningful existence. That is what we're all about. We work hard to provide for our families and take advantage of the opportunities presented to us at any given time. Wouldn't you agree?

So, if you have an "itch" that needs scratching. If you have what you think is more powerful than a just passing thought, respect it for what it may turn out to be. Follow through with meaningful research. Take a lot of notes. Ask many questions & most of all, seek out those who are in the position to help you along the way. "It's not what you know. . it's WHO you know!" There is a lot of truth to this. . ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS and LEARN FROM OTHERS who have done what you want to do. It is so much easier this way. The wheel is not here to be reinvented. There is a proper course of action. . a procedure, that fits exactly in place when executed properly.

We have the pleasure and the honor of assisting those who want to start a new life here in Costa Rica. We have been doing this for over 20 years now. The success stories that we have heard from individuals and families who have made this change in their lives are so amazing. There are books to be written in the future that will tell of their stories. They first made certain that they wanted to, without a doubt, move to Costa Rica. It took some of these folks many years to finally decide. . others, only months. It is different for everyone. We always suggest to those with whom we work to take all the time that is needed to be sure! Moving to another country and then changing your mind once you get here is like trying to put the toothpaste back into the tube. It is messy.

The good news is that when you do all of your research, when you talk to a lot of people and learn all about this process of changing your life, of stepping outside of your norm, when you have a plan of action and know, beyond any doubt, that you are doing the right thing, you will be in a blessed place. We all wish for a life full of pleasure and success. This "Pura Vida" Lifestyle that you have heard so much about may just be what you need to find your own little slice of paradise. Set yourself up for success by doing everything that needs to be done to finally arrive. And do not be afraid to wander out of that cozy little comfort zone. It may just be the best thing that you ever did in your life!
