The news that Princess is offering a new signature beverage collection came with a lot of fanfare. I, for one am excited about the Zero Proof assortment…And an assortment it is.

Some of the choices include:

Golden Orchard – green apple juice, lemon juice, Yuzu Juice, banana syrup, tarragon leaves, Sprite, lemon balm tincture

Serene Bloom – strawberry consommé, lemon juice, Fee Brothers Foam, rose water, Butterfly Pea Flower Extract, Ginseng Root powder

Tropical Balance – pineapple juice, lime juice, ginger syrup, ginger ale and Ashwagandha powder

Lime Serenity – Fever-Tree Lime & Yuzu Soda, lemon juice, green coconut tea, mint leaves and Reishi powder

Garden Ember – cucumber juice, jalapeno-infused Agave syrup, lemon juice, Fever-Tree Lime & Yuzu Soda and Maca Root powder

I have sailed on Princess twice, and while I really enjoyed the food and specialty coffee drinks, I didn’t try any non-alcoholic cocktails because I didn’t know they were available!

For you folks who enjoy a libation or two on your journey, there are some eclectic choices as part of the new “Pours” collection:

“Featuring founder-led premium cocktails, wines, beers and ready-to-drink selections crafted with quality ingredients and modern mixology techniques, including the cruise line's partnerships with Pantalones Organic Tequila by Camila and Matthew McConaughey, Slainte Irish Whiskey by Liev Schreiber, Meili Vodka by Jason Momoa, Archer Roose in partnership with co-owner Elizabeth Banks, Hampton Water Rosé by Jon Bon Jovi and Jesse Bongiovi, and Melorosa Wines crafted by Jason Aldean, Kasi Wicks and Chuck Wicks.”

Sounds fancy doesn’t it? I love the “wellness forward” attitude that Princess is embracing with their new beverage collection.

Now, I can hang out with the bartenders by the pool. During both our cruises, my husband and I spent a lot of time near the pool. Since we don’t drink, we mainly went inside to the buffet area to grab an ice tea or down to Deck 5 (on Enchanted Princess) to order a frozen coffee drink at the International Cafe (which were delicious by the way.)

I have to admit, I was a little jealous of the folks who frequented the pool bar. The bar tenders seemed to know them by name, and they looked like they were having so much fun, getting all that attention.

Let’s face it. When you’re ording a frozen caramel mocha, you don’t get quite the same treatment as when you’re ordering a Dirty Margarita while swaying to Calypso music on Deck 16!

But I know that when I walk up to the friendly bartenders and order a “Serene Bloom” or “Golden Orchard” from the Zero Proof Line, I will feel the same camaraderie.

And maybe, I’ll get to know the other cruisers better as well. My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at the time, so we weren’t really there to mingle, but it seemed like the bar (the same as on land) is the place to see and be seen, to meet and greet if you will.

I don’t know though. The track on the top deck is calling our names. That’s where we spend a lot of time.

I love it up there. And if you feel like it, you can also play pickleball or mini golf. I know a lot of ships put their water slides up top, but this is more my speed. And there is something about walking around the permimeter of the ship to the sound of ocean waves and taking in the view of the latest port we are docking into.

That’s what I love about cruising. However you can imagine your vacation, you can experience it on a cruise ship.
