A beautiful moment in time...

Brunch at Tumpty's

As the cool breeze of the Arabian sea kissed my face my eyes engulfed the beauty that lay ahead of me. The waves kissing the horizon way out in the distance and the sky line a mere outline of white fluffy clouds, gliding slowly across the eternal sky above me.A breath taking sight to see.I knew I had to capture this sight and hold it forever,as who knew I would be writing about it ,as I am today....on vocal..

With camera in hand I focused the lens and clicked the photo, checking again and again , making sure I got exactly what I was seeing...

My camera a silvery grey, is an Olympus ,stylus 410 digital, weather resistant one ,connected to the Olympus School of digital photography mentioning, for further information to visit www.olympusphotoschool.com or call 1-800-645-8100 x6161,a very good camera as you can see from the photograph.

The contents included with my camera are a 32MB x D-Picture card,Lithium-ion battery and charger, self timer, remote control,USB cable,A/V cable, wrist strap, quick start guide instructor manual and warranty card.My camera also has another feature a CD-ROM which contains ,CAMEDIA Master software Abode Acrobat Reader and camera reference manual.I just love it!

As the above information explains the fantastic quality of my photograph I will say the memories that are attached to it are awesome too.

It was a Sunday afternoon ,Kevin, me and our girls were invited to a very close friend Tumpty and his girlfriend Martha's, for a relaxed afternoon brunch. Our girls were so excited as it was their second time in the three weeks we had been in Goa ,visiting friends and spending time right on the beach.

The image was taken from in front of Tumpty's front porch. He was renting a tourist beach shack, very simple and down to earth, just as he was.A modest one bedroom living come dining and bathroom attached, although it was hot as hell situated right there on the Calangute beach, one of the twelve beaches in Goa.

We lived about a 100 meters towards the back from Tumpty's plot. It was always a steamy walk through the smolding sand,so we had to make sure to wear appropriate flip flops to protect our feet.

Martha was standing in the back doorway watching us treading towards her ,in our bright colored beach wear ,chattering with each other as we got closer. Her tall stature and radiant smile was a welcoming sight which transferred into warm hugs and kisses. We were so pleased we were all off the sand and standing on the cool floors inside her home .The girls eyes caught the cool drinks , a beautiful red in color ,and reached out to get a glass each..watermelon juice it was....As the kids sipped on their cool drinks we adults proceeded to the front of the house facing the gentle and quiet waves ahead of us...lawn chairs strewn out with Gins and tonics in tall glasses on a small bamboo table, were all ready to go...soft calming music played a familiar tune..it was Wah!!...an interesting genera of Indian Krishna songs.....sensational!

Tumpty was no where in sight..Just as we were about to question, there he appeared in his wheel chair moving up the hill from the beach shack next door, a big box of something...the aroma of which filled the air triggering of my hunger....hmmmm...smelt like ....grilled mackerel fish..Yummy!!

Hello! he bellowed from afar ..his deep voice filled the air .I ran down towards him to get the box off his lap ,kissing him on his chubby cheeks..."Hi!nice to see you" I said.

Once all of us were settled into our respective beach chairs ,sipping on our delicious adult drinks and devouring the scrumptious Goan mackerel fish...we engaged in great conversation swapping stories of our lives when in calcutta, India and their time while in the U.K. and laughing our heads off to the obnoxiously funny jokes that Tumpty cracked in-between conversations. He was a great joker ...which made the day even more memorable...

Our girls plonked themselves on a bamboo mat, which Martha laid out for them under one of the shady palm trees , handing them a plate fish too.The kids were so happy..."Thank you! aunty Martha" they both said in harmony.

As the evening started setting in it became cooler and the breeze from the sea became stronger...the sound of the waves too overpowered our conversation .....wind chimes adding to this symphony.....catering to all my senses....

There was a moment when all of us went down to take a dip in the Arabian see......It was cold ...and felt absolutely relaxing, to just sit and be covered in each approaching wave, as the surf hit the sand ,retrieving in a dance to the heartbeat of mother nature....I can still feel my feet sinking into the soft moist malleable sand....What a picture perfect day it was,and I hold on to it dearly as Tumpty is no more..but the day we spent with him is captured forever in my "outdoor shot" of fabulous mother nature.

Dedicated to sweet Tumpty,May you rest in peace!

Thankyou! forever,
