Pokhara is one of the most famous places in Nepal for peaceful nature, clean environment, exploring different kinds of cultures, religion, adventure, and so on.

People can find their inner and outer peace because of its environment. It is an amazing place to spend your time with your families, friends, and your close ones. So, I also went there last year, and it was a very enjoyable experience, and I’m writing my memories and experience I spent in Pokhara with my siblings.

Day 1

We started our journey from our hometown, Gorkha district, at 7 am. We went to Khaireni; it would take 3 to 4 hours to reach Khaireni by bus from our hometown. After we reached Khaireni, we had lunch and started to wait for the bus to Pokhara.

We found many buses going to Pokhara, but we didn’t find any empty seats on the buses. Because that time was the festival season of our country, Nepal, that is the reason we faced that type of trouble.

After waiting for a long time, we found one bus and seats, and we started our journey from Khaireni. We ate some snacks after 2 hours of our travel from there. It took so long, around 7 to 8 hours, to go to Pokhara from Khaireni.

The journey was tough because of road conditions and long travel, and we all were so tired. But when we reached there, we forgot that because of the environment and view. After some time, we booked a taxi and went to the hotel and took a shower.

We had our dinner after taking a shower, and we went to Lakeside. We saw different groups playing Deusi Bhailo, concerts, and different kinds of games there because of the festival season of Tihar. We also played some games, watched dancing, and enjoyed the Lakeside view.

It was such a neat and clean environment with an amazing view. Everyone gets attracted and finds peace in Pokhara who goes there because of the adorable nature and many other things. We spent some time on those things and went back to our hotel to take rest.

Day 2

We woke up the next morning at 6 am and had some breakfast, and my sister and I started to get ready while my brothers went to rent bikes. We had so many places to visit, and it would take so much time by bus or on foot, so my brothers rented bikes for faster travel and comfort as well.

My brothers came back after some time, and we started our Day 2 journey. First, we went to one of the amazing places in Pokhara, Pumdikot Temple. It took around 1 hour by bike to reach there. I was able to see the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu ranges from there. I also came to know that the Pokhara is also known as the gateway to the Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

It is the biggest Lord Shiva temple. Many tourists and many Nepali people go there for worshipping God and taking blessings from God. We also prayed to Lord Shiva, took some photos, and went back to one of the famous places in Pokhara called Devi’s Fall.

We spent some time there and went to a hotel to eat the famous Nepali khana, Thakali. The food was amazing, and the hotel staff were so kind and polite. We went back to our hotel, took some rest, took a shower, changed clothes, and went to our other destination, Pokhara Lakeside, to do boating.

We did full lake boating and reached the temple by boat and worshipped God there as well. Then we went to Mahendra Guffa. We visited Mahendra Guffa, and inside it was one of the religious places.

There is one person staying inside the guffa every day and worshipping God. It is colder inside the Guffa than outside. When we finished our guffa visit, we wore some cultural dresses of Pokhara.

It was already night after travelling to four places, but we also decided to go to Bindabasini Temple. It is also called Radharani Temple. It is one of the famous temples of the Hindu religion in Pokhara. We watched the aarati, dance, and shooting. We walked around the whole temple and went back to the hotel and slept.

Day 3

On the last day, we visited Begnas Lake in the morning. We got the chance to see mountains near the lake. We also saw the amazing sunrise view from the same place. We were so happy and found an extra interesting and enjoyable experience from the mountains and sunrise.

After that, we decided to go back to Kathmandu. We didn’t want to leave Pokhara because there is a different kind of peace and environment there, but we had to leave and go back to our daily life in Kathmandu. We went back to Kathmandu by bus; it took 10 hours, and all of us slept.

When I remember the Pokhara memories, I still get a smile on my face, and that makes me so happy. I’m so glad I went there once in my life. In the future, if I get the chance to travel, I will choose Pokhara again and again. I will also suggest everyone please visit Pokhara. You will never regret visiting Pokhara because you will find peace and unforgettable experiences in your life.
