A Wonderful Country with Amazing Places to Visit

Mexico is a beautiful country located North American comprised of 32 states that vary from deserts in the north to tropical beaches in the south. With so much to explore, it can be difficult to figure out exactly what the best parts to visit are. Let’s take a look at some of my most favorite places to visit in this amazing country known as Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta

Located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta is easily one of the most popular vacation destinations among both American and Canadian tourists. It’s commonly thought of as just beaches and sunshine, but there really is much more to the city than just this. Puerto Vallarta has a wide-variety of restaurants ranging from small taco stands near the beach to fancy restaurants with world-class eats. Another great thing about Puerto Vallarta is that because it is such a tourist hub you shouldn’t have too much difficulty getting by even if you don’t speak much Spanish.

Copper Canyon

If you like Arizona’s grand canyon then you’ll love Mexico’s Copper Canyon. Located in the northern state of Chihuahua Copper Canyon is named after its copper green color that lines the walls of the canyon. This may go without saying, but Copper Canyon is best for those who are nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy a good long hike. You can also enjoy a 14-hour scenic ride on the Copper Canyon Railway which passes through almost 400 miles of the canyon. This maybe isn’t a destination for your first trip to Mexico, but if it’s your 2nd or 3rd then this may be a place you want to check out.

Yucatan

Yucatan is a rather small state located in the southern part of the country near the Gulf of Mexico. The main draw of this part of Mexico is the ancient Mayan culture that still exists in some parts of the state. You’ll find here the famous pre-Columbian city that was constructed by the Mayans which includes the famous Temple of Kukulcan which you’ve likely seen somewhere even if you aren’t familiar with it. This is a great place to visit if your interested in getting out of the typical vacation spots such as Puerto Vallarta, but you don’t necessarily want to go somewhere untouched by tourists.

Baja California Sur

Baja California Sur is a state in the southwestern part of the country that although it does attract tourists, it’s probably a place that any normal vacationer or first-time traveler to Mexico would skip. The state itself has miles and miles of coastline making for some of the best beaches in both the country and the continent. One of the most fascinating parts of Baja California as a whole is that it has an interesting blend of both the ocean and desert. The capital of the state is La Paz which is considered by many to be an important commercial center for the region so even if you don’t care much for beaches or the ocean you could still find something for you. Any place that receives a lot of tourists will have people that speak English, but when visiting Baja California it’s not a bad idea to learn a little Spanish beforehand.

There are of course many other places in Mexico to visit such as Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara and more, but these few are some of my favorites. Mexico is one of the most visited countries in North America and for good reason. It’s wide variety of destinations make it a place that has endless place to visit with an endless number of attractions to visit. With so much culture to experience, Mexico should absolutely be on every travelers must-visit list.
