Whether you're traveling to an exotic location this summer or simply enjoying a day at the beach, these books will keep you company. From romance to fantasy, we've got it covered.

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

Tom Sherbourne is a young World War I veteran who takes up the job of lighthouse keeper on Janus Island off Australia’s southwest coast. He wants to distance himself from his disturbing war memories. He finds comfort in his simple routine, until he meets Isabel Graysmark, a spirited young woman who has grown up on the remote island with her family. Tom and Isabel marry and are content until Isabel suffers two miscarriages, which leave her deeply depressed. One day, a rowboat washes ashore with a dead man and an infant girl inside. Isabel convinces Tom to keep the baby, whom they name Lucy. The couple is happy again, until Hannah Roennfeldt appears in their small town looking for her daughter, lost at sea years ago.

The Light Between Oceans is an extraordinary novel about choice, love and sacrifice that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. It’s also a best seller — already optioned as a movie starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) and Alicia Vikander (Testament of Youth).

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

It’s the most popular book of the summer, and for good reason: Me Before You is a tearjerker told in Jojo Moyes’ signature British voice. The story follows Louisa Clark, a small-town British girl who takes a job caring for Will Traynor, a wealthy banker who was left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier. Will has no interest in living with his disability, and Lou must do everything she can to change his mind—and fall in love with him in the process.

After losing her job at a small-town café, Louisa Clark is hired as a caretaker for Will Traynor, a wealthy banker who became paralyzed in an accident two years ago. They couldn't be more different from each other, but as the months pass by and they spend more time together, Lou begins to fall for Will — but he's determined not to fall for anyone. This book is on our summer reading list because it has everything: romance, suspense, humor and memorable characters that you can't help but love.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus is a book that I recommend to people all the time. The story of a circus that only opens at night will sweep you off your feet and right into the center of its magical world. It’s a beautiful book both literally and figuratively — I took it with me on my honeymoon and have given it as gifts to several friends. It’s been years since I read it myself, but it’s one of those books that always sticks with me long after I finish reading the last page.

The Night Circus is an adventure-filled love story that takes place at a magical circus called Le Cirque des Rêves. The circus is a spectacular event set up only at night, and it features many unique exhibits and performances that are not to be missed.

The book shares the story of two young magical apprentices who begin a competition without knowing the other is involved — or what the true cost of losing will be. The Night Circus has been on my reading list for years, and this summer I plan on finally picking it up.

`The Night Circus follows the story of two magicians, Celia and Marco, as they compete in a circuital battle of magic. At night, the circus comes alive with every kind of magical feat—fire breathing, acrobatics, weather changing—you name it. The circus is shrouded in mystery, and it will keep you on your toes page after page. This dark fantasy novel is perfect for anyone looking for a new twist to their beach reads this summer.

A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler

Summer is almost here, and that means it’s time to find a great book and head to the beach. Here are seven of our favorite beach reads and why you should add them to your summer reading list this year.

A Spool of Blue Thread provides a glimpse into the lives of a typical family. Tyler's novel is about three generations of the Whitshank family living in Baltimore. As each character struggles with their own challenges, they must also learn how to deal with each other as well.

In her usual fashion, Tyler does an amazing job building believable characters that force us to reflect upon what we value most in life. The way she describes the relationship between Abby and Red is especially intriguing, as we see how a marriage can both withstand and be destroyed by various challenges throughout the years.

Though some readers may find the book to be slow-moving at times, A Spool of Blue Thread is still one of the most popular novels on our summer reading list because it makes us consider how we choose to deal with adversity in our own lives and relationships."

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins is one of those books that everyone is talking about, so you’ll be sure to find someone to discuss it with when you finish. The story is about a divorced woman who spends her time commuting to and from London, fantasizing about the people she sees through the train window. She believes she has a connection with a couple whose home is along her route, but after witnessing them arguing she later learns that they have disappeared.

Recently divorced, Rachel Watson spends her weekday commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. When she sees something shocking happen there one morning, Rachel tells the police what she thinks she saw after learning that the woman who lives there is now missing and feared dead. Unable to trust her own memory, or even herself, Rachel becomes entangled in a psychological mystery in which she must discover the truth.

How to be Both by Ali Smith

This book is a must-read because it’s told from two different points of view. How can you read the same book twice and have a completely different experience? Well, it’s not actually physically possible to read the same book twice, but if you get a copy of How To Be Both, you’ll find that each version has two different perspectives. Both versions of the novel are bound together in one volume. One begins with George, then the second version (which is printed on the reverse side) begins with Carola. In an interview with NPR, Smith said: “When you think about all these stories that we've been told about our lives and our histories, by men — and I'm talking about heterosexual white men — what do they always leave out? The other half of it," she says. "The women who were there, the gay people who were there, the black people who were there. By accident or design or unconscious bias or something else entirely, women have become absent from history."
