The Maldives is a tropical paradise located in the Indian Ocean. It  is an archipelago country in South Asia.

Addu Atoll

Addu Atoll, also known as Seenu Atoll, is the southernmost atoll of the Maldives and features a unique heart-shaped geography. It is notable for its rich history and diverse ecosystems, and as a significant population center, it makes it a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. The atoll played a strategic role during World War II as a British military base. It is home to stunning coral reefs, diverse marine life, and traditional Maldivian culture.

Fuyahmulah Island

Fuvahmulah Island is renowned for its unique ecosystems, including natural freshwater lakes and diverse marine life, particularly tiger sharks. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, making it a prime destination for ecotourism and diving enthusiasts. Known as 'Shark Island,' it is one of the best places globally for shark diving, particularly for tiger sharks.

It is often referred to as the “Maldives’ Secret Island,” offering a unique landscape with freshwater lakes, wetlands, and diverse wildlife that is not found on other Maldivian islands.

Hanifaru Bay

Hanifaru Bay, located in the Baa Atoll, is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its vibrant marine life, particularly manta rays and whale sharks. This unique ecosystem attracts large gatherings of these species, especially during the feeding season from May to November. Up to 200 reef manta rays (Mobula alfredi) can be seen feeding here, particularly peaking in July and August. The bay is also known for hosting one of the largest concentrations of whale sharks, making it a prime spot for snorkeling.

Thilafushi Island

Thilafushi, often referred to as "Trash Island," is an artificial island in the Maldives created in the early 1990s to serve as a landfill for waste from the surrounding islands and resorts. Spanning approximately 124 acres, it has become a significant waste disposal site, raising environmental concerns due to pollution and waste management issues.

Vaadhoo Island

Vaadhoo Island, located in the Raa Atoll, is renowned for its stunning bioluminescent beaches, often referred to as the "Sea of Stars." This natural phenomenon is caused by bioluminescent phytoplankton that illuminate the shoreline at night, creating a magical experience for visitors. It creates a surreal experience as the tiny organisms emit light when disturbed by the movement of the waves or footprints on the sand. The island itself is a tranquil paradise with white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters.
