The end of the summer travel season and the onset of autumn are two ideal times to book a getaway. This season, many Americans are eager to explore new places.

The rise in searches for places such as Barbados, Ho Chi Minh City, and Munich can be attributed to travelers’ excitement about these destinations, as they were previously challenging to visit due to various travel restrictions. These destinations are now more appealing due to the favorable exchange rate and the shoulder season deals.

According to data collected by various travel sites, there has been a spike in the number of people searching for specific destinations this autumn.

Scottish Highlands, Scotland

Despite the brisk weather, the Scottish Highlands is a beautiful place to view autumn colors. A region known for its unique landscape, it is also known for its gold and copper-covered hills. The best views of the colors can be found at the Pass of Killiecrankie and around the town of Perth.

One of the best views of the autumn colors can be found at Knock Hill. From the summit of the Highlands, you can enjoy panoramic views of the area. In addition, the area around Perth is also home to the world’s tallest hedge, which is almost a hundred feet tall. Leaves turned in September and are in full bloom by October.

Portland, Oregon

The Pacific Northwest city of Portland is known for its diverse topography and unique neighborhoods. There are endless forests, food trucks, and excellent hipster communities. The Palisociety Hotel Grand Stark is in the Central Eastside neighborhood of Portland. This 57-key boutique hotel pays tribute to the region with its contemporary interior, which features a mix of vintage and hunter-green furnishings.

There are so many neighborhoods in Portland that it can be hard to choose one area to visit. My favorite is the Pearl District, a vast area with several restaurants and shops. Another area that I recommend is the Nob Hill/NW 23rd Avenue neighborhood, which is full of excellent shops and restaurants.

Ho Chi Minh City

The number of countries that have opened their borders has led to a spike in interest in Asia. According to a metasearch site, Vietnam’s biggest city, Ho Chi Minh City, has seen a 46 percent increase in its search volume compared to last year. Expedia reported a 630 percent increase in its searches this fall.

The border restrictions in Vietnam were lifted on March 15. One of Vietnam’s most popular travel destinations is Ho Chi Minh City, a great place to spend the autumn season. During this period, the city’s temperatures are typically warm, and the end of the rainy season provides an excellent opportunity to visit some of its most prominent landmarks.

London

Several European cities experienced a significant increase in their search volume this autumn. Some of these include London, which has seen a 290 percent increase in its search volume. It was also one of the most searched places on Booking.com and Priceline.

Although the death of Queen Elizabeth II has led to a spike in interest in the royal family, interest had already been strong due to various events that were held earlier this year. Some of these include the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the unveiling a special exhibit at Buckingham Palace.

The fall season is a great time to visit London because it’s typically less crowded. During this period, you can also enjoy various activities such as walking through the Old Spitalfields Market or visiting the London Eye. You can also catch West End shows like Les Misérables or a new favorite like Six. If you’re staying in the city, you can also visit one of its iconic landmarks, such as the Sky Garden.

Oceanside, California

If you’re looking for a Southern California beach town that’s both affordable and trendy, look no further than the city of Oceanside. This area is located in the San Diego County region and is easily accessible from LA and Laguna Beach. Over the past five to seven years, the city has undergone a significant resurgence, with several new boutique hotels and restaurants opening daily. If you’re a fan of surfing, then this is the place for you.

The Mission Pacific Hotel is located across from the beach. Its coastal vibe is both laid-back and chic, and it features the Graves House featured in the Top Gun movie. The hotel transformed the historic structure into a dessert bar known as The Famous High-Pie to keep the historic structure intact. The California Surf Museum is also located in this area and offers various interesting historical facts about surfing.
