In Costa Rica, Your 'To-do' List Has a Little Bit More Leeway. There's No Hurry Now. .

Sitting here. . thinking about how much fun it is to share with all of you the many exciting adventures experienced in Costa Rica by so many people. Books have been written. . movies have been made. . lives have been changed by this thing we proudly call, "The Pura Vida Lifestyle"! What a wonderful lifestyle it is!

To-Do Lists in Costa Rica are Easier to Complete! One of the benefits of living here. .

What a difference in your daily life here in one of the happiest countries on the planet. . it's all about the PURA VIDA!

Recently, we asked a handful of our clients what the daily life was like here in Costa Rica compared to how it used to be before they moved here. We received some funny responses! And you know it's all true!

Jerry from Atenas corrected us quickly. He said that he calls his 'to-do' list his 'MIGHT DO' list. If he doesn't get it done today or tomorrow, then just maybe it will get done later in the week. Can't argue with that. There's absolutely no deadlines here and what ever happens. . well it just happens. There's no feeling guilty. . there's no hurry & there's always time to get it done at a later date!

Suzie and Phil from the Jaco area told us that on any given day, they first prepare Gallo Pinto. . enough for the entire day. They may invite their neighbors over for lunch, so they have to let the spices meld together perfectly as they do! Then they have to trim their basil bush, pick the hot peppers if they're ready. . they have to emply their sock on the chorreador from the day before. . then they have to repair the mesh on the chicken coop. . they found two of the new baby chickies wandering around where they weren't supposed to be. . moving down the list, they have to go pick up some more wine for the sunset tonight. And perhaps some cheese that will surely top off a perfect evening.

David & Marti have a short list to conquer. . the mango tree is producing so many mangos that they're starting to fall on the ground. They're ripe and David and Marti need help eating all of them. They cut up about a dozen for themselves and store them in the freezer for quick use later in the week. Then they take a basket full over to Maria and Juan, their elderly neighbors. David will cut the grass for them as well and Marti will help pull the weeds in their garden, picking some lettuce, cucumbers and tomotoes along the way. Neighbors helping neighbors. . that's ALWAYS on any given TO DO LIST! And most important, it is sincerely appreciated, which make you feel even better in getting something done for someone else!

Billy and Sheri. . they admitted that they had a hard time slowing down from their 'got-to-get-it-done-today' regiment. And for many people, it is a tough transition. Baby steps. . every day one must implement more of the Pura Vida lifestyle and soon it will feel to be normal. In a month or so, life will start making sense once again, but in a way more pure and more meaningful.

There's NO HURRY. . NO SHAME if something doesn't get done today. . and if you're just up for a LAZY DAY today, you simply place that pesky TO-DO LIST back into the drawer for tomorrow's consideration! Yes, that's how it is here. . Pura Vida por siempre!
