If you had your own personal Genie. .

We all daydream, don't we? We pretend, just for a moment, that we are young again. We dream about what it would be like to be super rich. We fantasize about how it would feel to be a rock legend, a movie star or even an astronaut, getting ready to set foot on Mars! Sometimes our imaginations run wild and we all have to admit, it's fun to visualize yourself as someone else, with no worries or problems. . no drama or complications. . no stumbling blocks in the way of our of pure happiness and total fulfillment of everything we desire! When we snap our fingers (or rub our Genie lamp), our wishes are granted!

We'll, it's time to snap out of it. . back to reality we go. It was fun while it lasted, huh? They're ain't no Genie lamp, no going back in time, no bright lights. . no video cameras pointed in your direction. The rent is due every month, the baby needs new shoes & your belly seems to be getting bigger every time you look in the mirror!

But, there is a place that can become 'magical' for you. . if you allow it to do so. A place, closer than you think, that is full of biodiversity. . with nature's finest work presented to you as if you were a rock legend, a movie star or an astronaut. A special location that allows you to position yourself, with just a few steps and minimal effort, to enjoy the rest of your life to its fullest. That fantasyland is Costa Rica. Let me explain myself further. .

First, let's talk a little about the Happy Planet Index. This is a measure of the human well-being and environmental impact of 140 countries. This undertaking was put into use in 2006. Since then, Costa Rica has ranked 1st a total of three times! And, it has been close to the top many other years. There has to be a reason for that. After all, what is more important to us than 'human well-being' and 'environmental impact'? Be sure to Google, "Costa Rica and the Happy Planet Index" and learn more about this important evaluation of well being. Be sure to check out the ranking of the country that you are in now. By the way, the USA has ranked as low as 108th place and Canada has ranked a not-so-stellar 85th! Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it! Rather alarming, isn't it?

Costa Rica is known for it's hundreds of thousands of species of plants and animals. Such beautiful examples of life. . our toucans and our scarlet macaws, our resplendent quetzals. . Our varieties of monkeys, butterflies, our anteaters. . our whales and dolphins playing in the surf. The big cats of Costa Rica are majestic animals. The species of insects, spiders, snakes. . even the creepy-crawlies are fascinating to search out. One can certainly become 'one with nature' here in Costa Rica.

With over 800 miles on coast, our beaches are host to many happy individuals enjoying our hot sun, every day of the year. In many areas, the jungle grows all the way to the beach's edge. Beauty like you've never seen before. And with over 25% of Costa Rica's land designated as 'protected reserves' by the government, you, as a resident here, will never be far away from what God has created for you. With dozens of national parks in all areas of Costa Rica, you are always close to getting totally lost in this paradise, far, far away from the rat race. . far away from other people and from the everyday stresses and challenges of life. On any given day, your most important decision is perhaps to ask yourself if you would like to enjoy either a papaya or a mango. . would you prefer your coffee black or with cream and sugar? These are tough decisions, we know, but these are examples of the integral parts of the "Pura Vida Lifestyle".

Our climate is diverse, with over 22 'micro-climates' in the mix. It's safe to say that if you hate snow, ice and freezing rain, Costa Rica is YOUR place to live! For those who like the 'change of seasons', there are areas of Costa Rica that get cold at night. And the good news is that within an hour of anywhere you live here, you can experience this change in temperature!

For the most part, Costa Rica is very safe. Of course, if you go out every night and frequent the seedy areas of the country, do drugs and wear your Rolex watch and your diamond necklace, then you may have some trouble. But, if you are vigilant and keep your wits about you. . keep a low profile. . you should be fine. There has been no army in Costa Rica since 1948. This is a democratic society here. The people are hard-working and caring. In fact, Costa Rica has a 97%-plus literacy rate. Many Costa Ricans are bilingual. Because of the high literacy rate and the bilingual diversity, many global technology companies are moving to and expanding in Costa Rica. It is a great place to live, obtain your legal status and start a business of your own.

The Genie in the above picture represents all that lies before you. If you have the desire to change and to create a completely different storyline to your life, then Costa Rica is here for you. Why not start drafting your plan of action and see where this new adventure takes you?

I wish you the best in whatever you do. . hope to see you here in Costa Rica very soon!
