I Love Las Vegas, but...

What is in the water?

I Love Las Vegas, but…

About 25 years ago, my Auntie had commented on the water quality in Las Vegas. She was sure the water was contaminated, with of all things, ‘Dead Bodies’, and so, she swore to never drink the water there because, obviously, it would not be safe to do so. She drew this conclusion, due to a pungent smell that came from the faucets, every now and then. I never forgot that she said that, and I wondered why the residents of Las Vegas would not hold the Water District accountable regarding any type of health hazard contamination. There was also, the time when my mother went to Vegas and complained about the smell coming from the bathroom area of a 5 star resort that she was staying at...Apparently, it was from the sewer lines, that are not maintained properly, and so, there was not anything the 5 star resort could do about it...

I have lived in Vegas for a little over 2 years now, and I love that there are so many different things to do (besides gambling and soliciting prostitutes) and a variety of places to eat. The developers have done a great job of creating every type of tourist attraction, so people will want to come here, instead traveling all over the world. If you talk to a native of Las Vegas, they will swear to you, that Vegas is not as fun as it used to be, when the Mob ran it, because the crooked corporate capitalists have created a very expensive atmosphere, where most people can't afford to stay here... and at least the Mob understood that the visitors were not going to stay in the rooms the entire trip, so they made the rooms inexpensive, because you would have more money to gamble with...The Natives stated that it was just more fun when they ran it, just as long as you did not get on the wrong persons bad side, you were sure to have a great time. They had more 'comps' to offer, where the corporate crooks expect you to pay for comps, if they even, offer them at all...The Mob was more family orientated and the corporate crooks don't care about anything, except ways to make everyone pay more money than they are supposed to...Now the Mob had gotten out of hand, hence the recent discovery...

Flash forward to 2022, and there has been a discovery in Lake Mead, a Dead Body, to be exact! Police have stated that this body has been there since the 70’s, imagine that!! And wait for it, there are probably more dead bodies that are waiting to be found, and these discoveries are sure to be made because the water levels at Lake Mead are dwindling down to the ‘dusty ground’. This is just disgusting and unacceptable. Does anybody realize the damage this type of contamination has caused? Every Resident and Visitor of Las Vegas should be extremely upset, because even if you knew better than to drink the water, you still took a shower, washed your hands, and could have gone swimming in Lake Mead…this must be illegal. The Water District of Clark County should not be able to charge anyone for water that has been contaminated like this, in fact, they owe everyone for not maintaining a pure water source, that they greedily charge to use…It does not make sense to monetize something that you did not invent or create (which includes everything that was already here before you were born) and then to add ‘insult to injury’ fail to maintain the quality, in order to prevent the spread of all types of preventable diseases. Every dog has their day, and the Water District of Clark County chickens have come home to roost. I wonder how they will slither their way around this…We shall see. ©
