Dubbed the "Island of the Gods", Bali is a truly divine destination that offers heavenly holidays for sinners and saints alike! Ideally, you should spend time exploring the island since there's so much to see and do. With that in mind, planning a two-week getaway is a good idea and gives you enough time for unwinding too. Here is one way to spend your 14 days in this slice of paradise.

Be Based by the Beach

Before going into the different areas to explore and attractions in Bali, make time to plan your stay by the beach. The island's pristine shoreline is amongst its main allures and you can look forward to plenty of chilled out days soaking up the sun as well as enjoying water sports and nightlife.

Staying at a beachside resort makes a great choice and apart from ocean view rooms, many of them have diverse dining venues and spas too. If travelling with kids, look to find one that offers family-friendly accommodation, has a kids' club and features a "kids eat free" programme which is a definite plus.

Enjoy Beach Bliss in Kuta

Amongst the most well-known spots for fun in the sun, sand and surf in Bali is Kuta. Hotel and resort options can be easily found by the shore with properties like Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali amongst the choices worth considering. You can look forward to spending your days sunbathing or playing on the sand, catching magical sunsets, surfing the waves and going horse riding on the beach.

After the sun sets, Kuta turns into a party playground with lots of clubs, bars and pubs coming to life drawing revellers from around the world. From enjoying drinks at Paddy's Pub to partying the night away at Bounty Discotheque there's much to enjoy.

Spend Time in Seminyak

Another area perfect for more coastal adventures is Seminyak. Not surprisingly, the beach here is a key attraction and you will find numerous restaurants, bars and boutiques in and around the shore along with water sports too.

Shopaholics can head to the Seminyak Square mall, while Balinese designer fashion is on offer at boutiques at Jl. Raya Seminyak and Jl. Kayu Aya. For some culture, you can visit the Petitenget Temple beside Petitenget Beach; foodies, on the other hand, will love the Seminyak Night Market which features an eclectic array of local dishes. At night, one can chill out at beach clubs or experience more upscale nightlife at venues such as Ku De Ta Bali.

Explore Enchanting Ubud

Also make time to head inland to places like Ubud, set amidst idyllic landscapes of lush greenery and rice terraces. Those staying in the town can easily head to the well-known Ubud Art Market with its fascinating array of local products including statues, batik shirts, wood carvings, silk scarves, handwoven bags and more.

For sightseeing, you can plan visits to Goa Gajah, an ancient cave that has religious significance and the Ubud Royal Palace where one can also view traditional dance performances. Also of interest is the Ubud Monkey Forest, a sacred natural sanctuary home to hundreds of long-tailed macaques!

Head to Captivating Uluwatu

Those still craving more time at the coast can head to Uluwatu and spend time there. This is the ideal place for beach hopping adventures, while some of the island's premier surfing hotspots can be found here too. Amongst the well-known shorelines are Dreamland Beach, Suluban Beach and Nyang Nyang Beach, while surfers will love the waves at Padang Padang Beach.

One of the best things to do in Bali is to also visit the famed Uluwatu Temple which sits atop a cliff overlooking the ocean. For a truly enriching experience, head to this site at sunset where apart from the inspiring views you can witness a traditional Kecak dance performance.
